All you needed to do was change the word "property" in the URL of the story editor to "content." So click on your fic like you normally would to add a chapter and while on the error page just change that word and it works.

Again, I haven't tried it, nor do I want to risk it. But, if anyone else wants to give it a go, you're welcome to it. Others have tried and met with success. I'm just not sure what will stay and go once FFn support manages to fix the issue.Posted by Slashguy and Effiron
First: Write down the ID number of the story you want to edit (the 7-digit number)
Second: Then use the following link:
http://login.fanfict...net/story/story ... p?storyid=
And then place your story ID number after the "=" sign without any spaces.
Speaking of, this is what they said the issue was (in the same forum):
From Benjamin - Help Desk Forum Moderator
Good morning folks, tech support is here!
I've been researching this error. It's a coding error in the page's java, tostories logged on a specific server. I have found that other stories workaround that one, because they don't follow the same hyperlink string of linkcommands. Problem is, as it is an internal code specific error with a precisearea of story IDs (apparently all the stories within the 46##### hex metafilecluster), there isn't much of a shortcut. So here's your options;
1) Support@fanfiction will probably get to looking at it on Monday, so bepatient.
2) As the hexfile ids of the damaged stories is an older string, you could(and mind you, this is an unrealistic long route) delete the story andre-create it so that it happens in a new hexfile cluster.

I considered that it might be possible to upload the whole story to another forum that's working, then change it to Dragon Age, deleting my previous story posting, but that seemed a tad baroque. Also I'd loose the few reviews I have.DreGregoire wrote...

Here's what I found for existing stories. It doesn't help me but maybe some of you it will. I'm trying to post a new story, heh.

This does open up the correct page but I haven't tried posting that way because I have no new chapters to post. LOL

I do see the new info above, though, so now I'll try that.

When I click on "My Stories" I get the list of my stories and then I clicked edit for the story I wanted and got the error page and inserted content for property in the address of the page. Do you get an error when clicking on my stories?

Okay, went to 'my stories'-- I am now here:
http://login.fanfict...ry_tab_list.php
So now I add the properties string to this address? Because I didn't try that. If I click on the story or edit, I get the error. Same if I type in the regular properties url ()]http://login.fanfiction.net/story/story_edit_property.php?storyid=[mynumber])

Don't add anything at the point when your stories are listed. Click edit on the story you want to add the chapter to and when that error message shows simply change the word property to content in the address of the page and hit enter. It should take you to the correct page, it works for me.

I don't think there are any actually, although i haven't really read that many. Still, with 2000 of the FF.net fics being Cousland/Alistair romances and at least half of the rest one-shots or about the blight/post-origins/awakening, I'm tending to think there are no stories like that.
I remember Sarah1281 telling me once that she didn't remember any fic where the Warden even considers the prospect of abandoning Ferelden, and she's read/written a lot more of these things than me.
I haven't seen any either tho I did think it made for an interesting idea. Something along the lines of...after the Warden goes to Redcliffe and deals with that problem and sees the state of the circle and then finds out about the urn, thinks there is no help from those quarters. Checks out the other options but the whole of Ferelden is a mess nor does it want to get over its petty issues. The Warden sees it as a lost cause and goes to meet with the Wardens in Orlias. I was thinking that Alistair wouldn't give up on Ferelden so would stay. Later the Warden returns to fight the Blight at the border and (when there is word of the Archdemons where abouts) goes deeper into Ferelden to find that Alistair was able to rally some support and even Loghain got with the program. Thusly the Warden has a lot of guilt and shame that they chose another path instead of sticking it out.
Or something like that.

That's actually very interesting, and I find the idea of the interactions between Alistair and that Warden intriguing--and probably pretty damn nasty.KSuri wrote...

Or something like that.Alistair might have gone after the Urn, himself, thinking that he both needed Eamon's haelp and that he owed it to him, so the plot could actually progress without the warden, allowing things to be a pretty much any stage when the warden returned. *Ponders very interesting idea*
An interesting idea indeed, in part because Alistair's explanation for why we shouldn't go to Orlais in the beginning doesn't really work very well. The way things progress, there seems to be plenty of time to get to Orlais and back. I can see somebody figuring the elves and mages are a lost cause and my canon warden was furious that Teagan sent me chasing a legend rather than pushing for a Landsmeet himself. Giving up on Ferelden isn't that unreasonable a choice, especially for a dwarf or dalish elf PC, who don't really have any great connection with Ferelden. Although my warden doesn't give up on Ferelden, when he's in the Deep Roads, he fears that he has effectively abandoned Ferelden, that it will be overwhelmed before he returns.
But I'm not sure how Alistair would get Loghain on his side. I think he'd have a better shot at getting Anora to stage a coup (maybe with Howe's help?). I think the split with the PC would harden him sufficiently to make him able to make some distasteful allies. Which companions would go with the PC and which would stay with Alistair?
