So... I was going to take a long break from writing fanfiction, but I had this dream... it was all about this assassin (I'm not naming any names but he wasn't Zevran or one of my characters) sneaking into my house and stealing my unfinished stories and publishing, the stuff I prewrote, way ahead of its time on fanfiction. So it ended in this huge fight over who should get the chocolate my fanfiction stories won for being completed; although, they weren't finished but missing huge sections. WTH kinda dream is that anyways? Maybe I should get right back to writing and quickly! LMAO!
Psst...
Did you know that you inspired me to do this story because of your discussion of another-assassin-not-Zevran in the November post thread? So thanks! It was fun!
Also, if an assassin tells you to do something, then I think you should probably do it!
Wait, you get chocolate? I WANT!

You have to be careful in this thread if you have chocolate because there are lotsa thieves in here. I'm building a fort around my chocolate and then I'm gonna make a moat. You know it's really funny but I think playing Oblivion is inspiring me to write more fanfiction for Dragon Age, just like AC inspires me in the same way. It's almost like playing different video games just adds to the overall thought (creative) process for fanfiction.

Oh, I totally agree. I think I can't write for Ezio because he already has such a detailed backstory, and well, why change perfection? XD Same thing with Geralt from the Witcher (personally). But for AFGNCAAP (Ageless, Faceless, Gender Neutral Caulturally Ambiguous Adventure Person) or games where you can design your own character (mostly) FF is much easier to write, and definitely inspiring. (It's why I'm here, after all)
Although I wouldn't put an assassin in Fereldan into a white outfit... just sayin'...

I think there are some pc mods for that and I know there are some for the Witcher outfits. *smirks*

Most of my stuff I have in Google docs with format tags - I don't use the RTF to do italics, I use HTML <i> tags (because I am old and resist changing to <em> or whatever the new standard is).
I see that ff.net accepts html files as uploads. Should I copy these documents to a text editor, save as HTML, then upload? Or is there a simpler way to do this that won't end up with my format tags displayed as plain text?

@ Corker - Woot! *Welcome to the dark side, my friend...* What's your account name?
I've never uploaded as HTML. I usually use an ASCII editor and add italics manually or just upload from doc. What's the current extension of your file? Is it .htm, or does Google docs have a proprietary format? (i don't use google docs, so I'm not sure) If you have Word, you could try converting it into a Word doc...
Hmm, a conundrum to ponder...

I went with SoLD's suggested tweak to my forum name: Corkerite! Like kryptonite, only squishier and sort of beige.

But in the end, experimentation will truly tell. You could just get a small section from one piece and experiment uploading it until you figure out the sweet spot.

Those authors make a lot of money.
My argument here is why should fanfics or their writers suck for producing that kind of stuff when other people are getting paid for it?

Do we know how far Vigil's Keep is from the city of Amaranthine? I'm not going to fuss over it too much, but I'd hate to make up a travel time only to learn later that somebody tells you that if you leave Amaranthine now, you can make it to the Vigil by nightfall or somesuch.

Going by the events in the climax of Awakening, the Darkspawn messengar that comes to tell you about the Mother attacking the keep makes it to the town pretty fast. Also, you can get back to the keep in time to regroup, close all the gates and put men and women at their posts....
I think half a day or so of marching, or a few hours ride (one or two while galloping), would fit. Arl Howe must have been stationed at least reasonably close to the city, right?
Besides, it would be impossible for Vigil's keep to become a trade hub and steal Amaranthine's business if it weren't close by.

Iit looks like the general idea is that it doesn't take long to go from one area to another in Bioware titles.
Which makes me wonder if me saying it takes about a week to go from Orzammar to Denerim is too long... huh.

Considering an NPC can get from Denerim to Ostagar in less than a day (or so they claim) and another takes two weeks to get from Orzammar to the Circle Tower, I think everything in a BioWare game moves "at the speed of the plot", as I saw someone put it once.
Basically, whatever works for the story becomes true...
