LMAO! Oh Saga, you made me spit up my coffee!

Slim, I and Ladyames also listen to music while writing. A lot of music! All right, show of hands, how many of you write to music?

Me, too. And if you ask Tasmen she'll tell you: it's all insufferable indie hipster crap. I have a thing for whiney singer-songwriters, ok?

I think we need to put some play lists together, a collaborative effort? I would love to see what everyone listens to and for what kind of scene. Say like the smutty scenes? Or your fight scenes, or angsty scenes with WODKA! : D

'Tis true.  Tight and ironic jeans with a baseball worn askew are Saga's bread & butter.  Where as mine (as she can confirm) are whiny singer-songwriters of the German variety a la Depeche Mode.

I don't write with music on but music certainly inspires me to write certain things. And its not always the music I'd listen to on a regular basis either. I've got a romantic thing coming up and its a country singer who inspired it.

Btw tasmen Depeche Mode are from the UK originally but kraftwerk are german :). *is expecting to be told off for being picky*

I only occasionally listen to music when I write, sometimes it is too much of a distraction. I did write much my last chapter (should be up tonight if I get home at a decent time) to Il Divo's "The Promise" and "Siempre" albums. Good music for angst and romance. I tend to listen to everything from Opera and classical music to folk, country and 80's rock. I don't much care for rap, but I will listen to just about anything else.

ROFL, I am forced to listen to music whether a distraction or no, because the hubby sitting next to me on his computer is a worse distraction than any music could be.

I'm with Tanith, though occassionally I listen to music when proofreading, I can't do it while I'm writing because I can't "hear" what I'm writing as I write it, if that makes any sense...

Thank you for all the party welcomes =p I do believe I shall be sticking around for a while yet. And to contribute, I personally need some measure of silence to write. I already have a hyper active imagination (I typically jot down about fifty potential plots for fan work or original every day), and just about ANYTHING will set me off in a different direction. When what I really want to do is sit down and stick to one story, it can get frustrating!

More often than not I write to the dulcet tones of Sesame Street or Playschool :). If there are any scenes where the characters start making cardboard castles and counting sandwiches you'll know who to blame :).

The feeling is more like "unless you're the fanfic Jesus, this isn't going to get you recognition and.or a job or anything." Personally I'd rather read than try writing something of my own.

Hey Shadow! I LOVE that version of "Bohemian Rhapsody!"

I write for me. I am not holding out for money or a job. That would be nice, to be sure, but not doing it for that.

I need to have someone hit my Goblins of Self Doubt with a bat, and make them stop pushing Logic's head in the loo while flushing it.   You see someone who used to review regularly on your story who stopped and is still reviewing a different story.  Yeah, I know I don't write for reviews or in the hopes of a job.  Not even the sodding stats bars on FF (though they are the divine crack).  Posted ImagePosted Image

But why does it make the Goblins bounce up and down with glee when you see that?   I try and tell Logic to get up off the bathroom floor and  kick the Goblins  in their stones.  After all, people are busy, they only have so much time to read! I know I do.  So many fantastic stories (all the ones I have given shout outs to, you know who you are) that I don't get to read as often as I would like (Miri1984, you doll, but damn girl I can't keep up).  But I had that and the Goblins are having fun.  Posted Image

Okay so I had my whine and a moan. Ugh!. I figure it would be all right to post my little whine with my cheese here.  Hmmm cheese... Alistair...cheese. Okay I feel better. Posted Image

Oh I've had someone that reviewed pretty regularly and when she didn't review a chapter, I freaked (and I've had someone worry when I didn't review before too :)).  It could just be that she/he is busy and haven't had time to read your story and review.  I would say try not worry about it, but I know that is easier said than done :D

Oh I know. But you know logic, it went to take a pee, and the Goblins are like the gremlins in the movie Gremlins. The sodding blighters are jumping all over the house messing things up. Or are they like the monkeys in Jumanji? Hard to tell!

Thanks Tas,  know that I love your stories.  *sigh*, more time! I need more hours in the day!=]

I'm really worried I've screwed up Zevran in my fic. Even though I know most of the game dialogue (thanks toolset!) and everything it so hand, I wonder if my perception of him is filtered too heavily.

But, I suppose he really is the bend me shape me character out of all the companions due to his nature, so perhaps I don't do too badly.

Ah well, back to writing! Have to hammer out an Aeducan fic before I attempt Duster, soooooo...

Yes and no...  But you know I have very definite opinions on my man, Zevran.  Bug me on IRC sometime and we can talk about it if you want.
