could someone please give me extra time so i could write? that would be great, thanks.
Just give up on sleep, that's what I do. I lived on 4 hours a night for 8 years in college, I can do it again. Yawns and falls asleep on keyboard.
Seriously, I think most of us have difficulty finding extra time. I usually write in the evening after the kids are in bed (and I frequently miss some sleep).
But, it's Sunday here and I'm not working or on call - Yay. Armed with chai tea and bribes for the kids, Tanith works on her next chapter.

Yep yep. I can admit it, I write a lot while at work. Have thumb drive will slack! RIght now I'm having an especially hard time finding time to write as my mother is here for 2 weeks and she demands I be social and stuff. The idea of such a thing!!!!
Just hope people don't get too pissy that they aren't getting their 2 Nate updates a week.

Why should they? I think it is much appreciated that there are talented people out there
who share with us. That is what i feel, gratitude.

I don't think anyone minds waiting for good FF. My updates are often 3 weeks apart, due to my schedule. I don't have much of a chance to write at work - I'm lucky to get 15 minutes for lunch most days. I'm looking at going part time (3 days a week) when our new vet gets here in July. It would be nice to only work 35-40 hours a week instead of 60-80.
Tasmen, spend time with your mom. Life is short, I only get to see my mom once every 2 years or so, as she lives 2,200 miles away.

There's a differenence between constructive criticism and being nit-picky. Constructive criticism can go in a review, it's what they're there for. But if you notice a typo, or mixed up name, or you don't agree with a word choice*, send the author a PM NOT a review for everyone else to read**! Is that really that hard?!
Look, I beta my stuff, and I read it myself before posting obviously, but stuff slips through. It's fan fic, it hasn't been professionally edited or anything. There are going to be nit-picky mistakes. Don't leave that stuff in a review where it will exist forever and ever and ever and possibly turn people off to your work.
Sure, you could say this was my own fault for being lazy. But come on. This isn't professional work. Typos and mistakes will crop up now and again. You don't like it, crack open a book. I bet there are a few errors in there as well.
* HELLO, a solar is part of a noble person's apartments (http://en.wikipedia....ki/Solar_(room)). I did NOT mean "salon" thank you very bloody much!!! Ugh.
**Miri, this isn't about you, really. I know you from here and I know you're just trying to help. I make exceptions for big words that I know what I mean to say but don't know how to spell and sometimes have Spell Check Fail on. But then I got ANOTHER review nit-picking words and it just set me off.

I'm a lazy writer too, but I'd like to think of the typos and missing words as my signature style. You know, since we all need one.

I spent time with her and got my update up. Best of both worlds I suppose.
@odie: I've had people leave me those reviews and not tell me what the errors were. Those reviews drive me bonkers.

@ Tas, I hate when people do that to me! I want to fix it, if you're going to tell me in a review, then sodding tell me where!

Tas, your new chapter was very good. Can't remember if I reviewed on FF or not (I have been really busy lately and not reviewing like I usually do), but I like the way you are handling Nate. I think his inability to see what his father was is very realistic. And LOL - Anders and flowers.Tasmen wrote...

YeahI have no way to know if people are reading my update or not and it's causing me to have a case of the freakouts. It was one I wasn't too sure about and the reviews have not been rolling in like in the past.

In reference to the earlier discussion of reviews, I think it is better to PM someone if you see a problem. Typos and minor misspellings happen to us all.

It's not so much that I mind those kind of things being pointed out to me (beyond the obvious frustration with myself!) it's more than now there's record of it. Forever. In a place where someone may easily go to determine whether or not they want to read my giant epic.
Maybe I should just be more paranoid.
Can't you review the review? In an even handed but pursuasive way?

I just worry. I know it's just fanfic and all, but still... So thanks. And yes, the Anders bit? I figured we needed a little levity in the midst of all the dreariness.

You can reply to the review, but it doesn't show up on the review page. Or, at least, I don't know how to display it if it does!
It doesn't. But you can review your own story and respond that way if you like.
