Oh, my dear, you are not alone. It's is heart-rending to post chapters and hear only silence. I look at it as being so awesome, nothing needs be said.

It's not so much that I mind those kind of things being pointed out to me (beyond the obvious frustration with myself!) it's more than now there's record of it. Forever. In a place where someone may easily go to determine whether or not they want to read my giant epic.
I haven't read all the new posts after this one, but if someone hasn't mentioned it you CAN delete reviews. I've done it before (for some random who just posted spam).

lol, thank you. I'm usually lurking, sorta paying attention. The Alistair gush thread consumes most of my time, espcially given the awesome new scenes we have. XD
And yes, please do. *hands gil something sharp and pointy*

You don't know about the gush tread??? The gush thread rocks, kicks ass and... Well, it's great. Whenever I feel depressed I pay it a sneaky visit. Hubby says it will take over the whole internet one day. Yay!

This might sound really weird, but I felt a lot less pressure when I got few reviews. The Hunt only started out with one reviewer for the first three chapters (I think), and that was someone who had read previous writings of mine from another game and had me on Author Alert.
My last chapter got the most reviews of any previous. *Significantly*. And now I find myself just a little scared and constantly wondering "How the freck am I going to improve on that?" The more attention the story gets, the more intimidated I feel that I'm going to screw up and let readers down. It's insane. >.<
...I suppose I should do work, since I'm in the office...

It's not weird. I'm kind of in a similiar situation. My Nate story received a huge amount of reviews for the first chapter. I had never put anything out there that was that well received. I felt VERY nervous about publishing the next chapter. And now, when I get less reviews, I worry that I did something wrong because I'm not getting the same level of feedback.
And on another note, I'm terribly behind on your story and NOW you have me curious what happened in this last chapter

Uh, huh. Well, I've never been inundated with reviews, but I think I'd take it as an excuse swing my author-peen around and be all, "I'm awesome!" Then someone would remind I'm not as awesome as I think I am and I'd go back to being an emo monkey chained to a keyboard bashing out letters until they form coherent words.
Coherent words are overrated

My take is different... I'm more "Yes, people think I'm awesome! How long can I keep them fooled?"

You Shadow are awesome! So I am eagerly awaiting the Alistair you are a douche convo. You are another author I have been a secret fan girl of for a while. Not to mention you are my hero for my stupidity on technology. *blushes with shame*
Tellervo, does writing with one's face require any special talents? Anything I should know before I start? If it makes me write as fantastically as you, well then I need to start.

It helps to put one's head through the monitor on a netbook. That's how I got started. Then, you must also be a cunnin' linguist ifyaknowwhatImean. A complete disregard for your self esteem helps, too, because typing with your face looks really dumb.
I guess the more appropriate response here is: aw, shucks, 't ain't that good. I could, y'know, have it beta'd, then it might not have so many usage errors from tiny keyboard syndrome.

In my head you're now Bernard Black from Black Books. May I be your Manny?
