Awww. Now I'm all red and flushed :).

Edited to add: BTW, I am a housewife at the moment, but have never found it boring!

Um, hell to the yeah. Housewife is a job! And how can it be boring? Not with all the tasks you have to do. I am in awe of housewives, stay at home moms. My mom did that for the first five years of my life. It is hard but rewarding work she says.

LOL, and Miri it is true. : )

My hat is off to you Miri, I would go insane staying at home with the kids. At least I have an excuse to let the housework slide when I am at work. My sister is a stay-at-home mom and I don't know how she does it, even without kids staying at home means the burden of the household chores fall on you - I can't imagine being bored even without a job outside of home.

BTW - I am stuck home with a vomiting 3 year old today - I would much rather be at work.

Ick, vomit. It isn't projectile is it? My friend's little one had a stomach virus and it was like watching the original Exorcist. : (

Ugh, glad I am not in high school anymore. I hated it. College was much better. Now if I could be my young self in college, well hot cha cha! : )

Miri, loving "Losses." And Tanith, where is my fanfic fix from you? *bats eyelashes imploringly*

There's a definite time-limit on my stay-at-homeness - so maybe that makes it easier :). Oh, and I've ALWAYS got an excuse to let the housework slide...

"I was writing a new chapter darling!" *batters eyelids*.

ROFL! I use that one too Miri! Oh, you're hungry? Well, I would make something to eat, but I have to write another chapter dearest. : D Or in the case of Shadow, Miri and Tanith, I have to read another chapter dearest.

I'm writing, I'm writing.  Haven't gotten a lot done today though, 12 loads of laundry from the vomiting child (did I mention he puked all over my bed) interfered with getting much done.  He does seem to be feeling better this afternoon - he's at least holding down water and toast.

I will second the begging for  new chapters, Gilgamesh, Shadow, and Miri.  Sialater is off the hook - sort of - she has been tormenting her grey warden again (see "The Rescue") - I may not forgive her if she kills Zev though.

Oh well, back to writing - we have a god child to find.

Yay Shadow - I'll be waiting for it.

Gilgamesh - you still have to get Fergus out of Kai's room. Thanks for your concern about my little guy. I understand about the cats - my cat likes to puke too, and she deposits mouse bits as presents on my doorstep almost every day. I have tried to convince her not to eat the mice - just leave them whole (they are easier to clean up that way) and she would barf less, but she just doesn't listen.

My sister is a published writer (three books, no less). I went to college to be an artist. I'm a great technical artist, but I just don't come up with images very well myself. Basically I lived on my classmates constructive criticism, because without it I never would have had a good image to match my workmanship. It was like I was using someone else' picture and making it with my own ability, or collaborating ideas to make a good whole. Fanfiction is much like that - you use the ideas of someone else and put your own touch on it. Much like my Critiques in art classes, though, getting a good "picture" depends on your critique - be it from an editor or your readers.

I like to write in someone else' world, be it RP or fanfiction, and I like doing collaborative bits most of all. What I don't like is never seeing a comment on them. It makes me feel like i'd rather see something bad about my writing than nothing at all. No, I'm not a "polished writer," i'm a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in Traditional Printmaking and a minor in Art History. Will it stop me from writing? Well, no. The lack of RP partners might, haha, but fanfictions or my likely to be rejected novel? - not so much. :}

I am an artist to, went to college got a BFA. I am with you Danjou, rather see something constructive or even negative than nothing at all.

LOL Tanith, I know, I need to get Fergus and Morrigan out of Kai's room eventually.

Ah, the mouse bits. My kitty once left me heads, feet, and tails on the doormat which I stepped on of course. *sigh* Mine are puking because of hairballs losing their Winter coats.

Ooooo can I join the club?

I have a confession. I am a fanfic writer and I'm addicted to reviews.

I have on hand 37 stories on FF.Net. Some of them are finished while my longer runs are about 1/3 complete and I'm always churning up new ideas.... most'll which never see the light of day.

Although I love 'you iz awesome ur work rox!' kind, they also leave critique out. What didn't you like and so far?

I had a few stories published in my school paper as a kid, and I joined the college paper- yet to finish anything, schoolwork is more vital at the moment....

But fanfic writing for me actually keeps me from getting depressed, and hey.....that's better than moping and being dark and gloomy

I was hesitant to post anything here..... cuz I'm afraid the community will shun me and lolz my writing skills....

*decides its time to make a confession*

Well I better get my coat... I spend most of my day in accounts, dealing with numbers and irate suppliers (not always in that order). So what on earth am I doing here? I really do wonder at times.

I've been writing on and off for years although this is the first time I've done a fanfic. I'm terrible though, I spend too long berating myself for what I've written/should have written (and not with cheese strings either). Yet I probably need it to get away from the number crunching :o.

So if you think you would be teased and lolz'd at, well they do but usually kindly :). Or they don't say anything at all...

PS. Has anyone else noticed the stats board on FF.net seems to have come to a stand still??

MireliA, as I've always heard, a writer is their own worst critic. When when you deal in an uncreative job (Well, I know mine is. Customer service for credit cards...I love being yelled at all day long), it seems to tax one's creativity. I've always been meaning/wanting to write more, but I keep finding myself getting caught up in something else that pulls me away. And then, when I do write something, I always feel it lacks that certain 'jena se qua'.

Its in the Traffic section - very interesting (thats probably the accounts person in me saying that...)

And cheers Bob - I have a proof-reader but I think the fluff-factor is starting to affect him (I need to kill someone off!). And as for your job its awful being vented on all day and everyday isn't it? *thinks she'll have to be careful in her next dealings with credit card companies*

MireliaA I am my own worst critic too. And I read your stories, I think they are great. : )

bob-san, I used to work in credit card customer service too! I feel your pain, really I do. I now work as a cancer information specialist. I answer questions about diagnosis, & treatment. I talk to people who are sick, weak, and on top of it all dying in some cases. Or their families call. I try and find resources: gas cards, rides, rent, utilities, food, medical equipment, wigs. It is a difficult but rewarding job. So, like Cyper0020 I use my fanfic to keep me sane.

bob-san, I need to check out your stories. Same for Cypher. I am already a MireliA fangirl. : ) Nothing wrong with fluff. After talking about death, or people losing their hair, or puking their toenails out due to chemo, I like fluff.

Gilgamesh1138: Well, I've mainly written things for RPG sessions I run with friends. I've not written anything fic-wise for far too long. But playing DA:O and reading things here give me ideas and inspiration for a story I'm basing on a DA:O Tabletop demo I'm running for friends called The Shields of Fereldan. Hoepfully, I'll have some kind of small prologue to post as I want it for the gaming session too.

Your job sounds really difficult to do. Next time I want to have a rant and a moan about my job I will think about this post and keep my mouth shut!  And there is a place in the fanfic world for fluff too, you're quite right :). What you said about being a fangirl really made me grin :D. I thought you were the only one reading it on FF!

Cypher, what name do you come under on FF.net?

And you have a whine and a moan about your work too!  You gotta let off steam.  All of our jobs can be taxing, and drain your creativity.  I suspect even writing for BioWare can be draining for Mr. Gaider and crew. :P

ROFL! I am no the only one I assure you! And I did notice the stats had stopped dead as of yesterday. I had 42 visits from the US, then nothing today. I was getting a lot more than that the rest of the month.

Aw, I am a fangirl. And I would love to read Cypher's too. So cough it up Cypher, who are you on FF? :D

Cypher, bob-san welcome. I think a lot of us use FF to stay sane. I'm a mixed animal practice veterinarian and usually the job is great but I work a lot of hours and sometimes there's stuff that gets to me (I've been in practice long enough now that there are animals that I gave their first puppy or kitten shots too who are now at the end of their lives and need to be euthanized). The cattle and horse work isn't too bad unless its a kids pony that needs to be put down - that's just awful.

Cypher, I will have to look up your work. Bob-san, I hope you share, it has been a long time since I played tabletop, I would love to start again but I have neither the time, nor the people to play with.

MireliA, I have been reading your work, it is very good.

Danijou, I know what you mean about not getting comments. I love to get any kind of review, even if it is bad. I am seriously trying to improve my writing so constructive criticism is very welcome.

Sorry about the long post, had to run errands today and have been off the boards for several hours.
