And edited because here I am pouting about the stats bar and I just got another review, and story fav and alert for "Soulmates," from a brand new fan. ROFL!    Ah, the Universe has a sense of humor.  It likes to put banana peels down for me and watch me slip and slide.

Oh that happens to me all the time.  I'll be on irc ****ing and moaning about non-reviewing beeetches out there and then BOOM, I get an email.

Yeah, the format is a bastard. >.

Though I've noticed on FF.Net it will sometimes mash two words together for no reason at all. The original Word version is fine, but published to FF.Net I get odd little discprepancies. o_O Anyone else get this?

You use open office or have your stuff beta'd by someone that does?  If not, which version fo word are you using?  I've noticed this happen when one of my betas  edits my doc in open office (equiv of office 2003).

If you go between Word and Open Office, yeah, strange things can happen.

From my experience however, if you get the file looking good in Open Office, it uploads perfectly or close to it. You can even put in the horizontal bars, and they'll translate over. It's what works for me anyway. :)

What doesn't work as well is copy/pasting from Google Docs into Open Office. I get these weird grey "spaces" at the end of all my sentences, or anywhere that I need to use two spaces instead of one. I always go through and delete/retype them all, but it's gotten me away from using Google Docs. My newly acquired flash drive has something to do with this as well ;)

I have had those gray bars, and it is a pain in the arse to delete them all. ROFL!

@Tas, glad I am not the only one, and how do you like it. I get six more new alerts, favs, and a new reviewer. Maybe the complaining makes it happen because the Universe likes showing what a prat I am?

I am so feeling LOSS, although someone added me to her favourites so it's not all doom and gloom. I too, like Soignee, am enduring the lovely summer weather here but mostly because I only get to see it through the widow at work...

Yeah, me too.  I posted for the first time on Live Journal this weekend and got the s*** sandwich reception and was even accused of being vanilla, what's with that? It's like taking issue with the sky 'cause it's blue...:crying:

Uh oh *hands round the chocolates and hankies as part of the LOSS group...* I still haven't posted there on the sites but that sounds like a stupid way to treat people. Honestly there's got to be a first time for everything!

I read your post and the answers. They were rather unfriendly and I had to restrain myself from being equally unfriendly that's why I didn't comment at all. :?

I felt really sorry for you.

UGH! Maria13, you are anything but vanilla. Your story is wonderful, well written, and damn entertaining. Those people can just s**k it. Tell them to get bent. I love it (okay not a ringing endorsement considering the source maybe), and someone from BioWare commented on it! How cool is that? Posted Image  Give them the old two finger salute, love.  And keep posting their just to show how little you care what they think. Posted Image

Well, another author of fic mentioned once that when she told her husband that she was going to start posting fic publically that she was only going to end up hating people more for having done so.  I think that statement is very true.

:o  What did you post?  *can't find it*  And that really sucks.  They seemed to be a pretty decent bunch, though granted I've only posted 1 thing there.  *pat-pats*

I don't hate people more, except the wankers who nit pick, and bully and don't provide constructive critcism (which I welcome). You know, the people who could write your story better than you could... yeah them. But I guess I have been fortunate to not run into many so far.

Tas, you are also a fantastic writer, go with the people who love it, and offer constructive things, sod the rest.

Maria, I'm wondering what you posted as well, because I regularly read there and I didn't recognise you - which one was it?

Edited to add: I found it. Actually there have been a few nasty comments going up on SIB lately - not sure if it's the same poster but she was RUDE I think :). There was even a negative comment to AMWT which I was gobsmacked at, because it was a criticism of character choices rather than of writing or editing and I think that sort of thing should be handled privately! Especially on a fic that sooo many people follow and love.

BTW, I really liked your story on SIB ;).

Miri you doll! Thanks for the review! You made my GoSDs go away. I want to make the Cousland origin interesting as I can since most have played it already.:wub::wub:

I can't wait to get to the part you haven't played, Kai and Duncan fleeing the castle and going to Ostagar. Then I can stop sweating it so much. Until I come to more of the actual game play again. ROFL!

I'm thinking I might actually have to write another gameplay story for my Aeducan - despite vowing I would never do it again. All my wardens have been kind of snarky and aloof, but my Aeducan chose the very diplomatic "Hah, you lose!" at the landsmeet after defeating Loghain (totally without my consent) and now I want to write about her :). Maybe I'll be better at it than I used to be.

At the moment Anders is - IN MY HEAD and won't leave me alone though. Much as I love Alistair. But the lack of sleep thing is doing me in. I actually don't have the energy to write because my head is all fuzzy. I finished my last chapter but now, even though I know where I'm going, I just can't seem to start the next one :(
