Don't you guys cringe just before publishing a chapter? Thinking "that's it, this is the one where I'm really going to balls up and no-one is ever going to read or trust me again...?"

All the fricken' time.  It's why I have two people beta sometimes.

I guess I have betas in the form of my friends who read snippets for me and I bounce ideas off of. What I would really love is someone to coldly go over my text and edit the tense/grammar fail, instead of me ninja editing it on ff.net when I notice.

Yep.  I covet my betas and will not share them.  Nope.

Yes. Especially since the story has reached 'moment of truth' time.

I don't have a beta for my current fic, but I did for past stories and found it very very helpful (and fun! oh, the emails...). I'm not worried about grammar/spelling so much, but just bouncing ideas or considering a point I might not have thought of does wonders, and sometimes it spawns whole new plot tangents :)

I think I need a bouncing ideas off kind of beta... I've tried Wayne (my SO) but he's pretty useless...

This...  It's so great having someone to sound off ideas with.   Plus, email titles are fun to come up with.  Oh yes!

Hehe. If you don't mind your Zev smut interspersed with as;ldkfansoivehkar and random shut downs, yup, she could :).

I like to think the impediments make the smut more fun!

NEARLY finished... hehehe.

I have great people to bounce story details with, but no grammar/spelling beta. Ninja editing is the name of the game...

whooopsss. Real Life means no update. How the hell do you actual proper parents cope with a three year old ALL THE TIME. Not allowed to sit and write, obviously.

It gets better. My sons are 10 and 12 so now all I have to do is to buy enough computers so I can have one of my own.
