Well... smut is the staple of ZEVRAN's romances..... ;)

I have Cullen fangirls favoriting The Rescue... should I warn them now? Or just let them find out?

Oh yeah, I saw that on FF.net. They're going to have a fun time when it comes to the bit you've just posted...

I'm going to have to get used to violent fangirls, I guess.  ;)

Gil:  I'll let them wait.  He is, after all... a romantic red herring. ;)

Ok... so I have two big fics in my head. The first one is another Anders/Neria focused one (although it will have Alistair and Miranda in it as well). I'm leaning towards writing it first. The second is a Duncan/Fion one (set 26 or so years after the blight). The second one will be the last chronologically in that universe (for some pretty big reasons).

I think I've convinced myself I need to do the Anders/Neria one first. Any thoughts? I've done rough outlines for both.

OH both sound absolutely wonderful. Hmmm I write linearly so I always vote for in order. Except I didn't do that with my own...DOH! Hoisted on my own petard!

I am leaning Duncan Fiona, as I haven't seen one yet.  It would be new.  But the utlimate choice is yours, my lady.  I will be reading now matter what.:wub::wub::wub:

They'll definitely both get written. I think I'll have to go linearly though. I re-read Consequences the other day (which I wrote before I wrote everything in that universe) and there are things missing - like Anders has no Neria (I'm actually going to work that in somehow) because I didn't know about her yet myself. And also I'd kind of like to finish with the big Duncan Fion thing because of the prophecy in Losses. If I'm lucky I'll get both done before baby arrives and then I can switch universes, possibly back to the Caged universe or finally get that Aeducan fic started... or maybe (since my husband keeps nagging me) actually move away from fanfic - although not entirely - and write that other thing :).

Just thinking aloud here now.

Its on FF.net but I've made a discussion thread on here as well. So all the info needed to read the story is available on the forum, it just links you to FF.net.

Yay soignee!

Just as a side note: when writing a story that's a progression for a character, then switching to something that's written in present tense and has more of a 'snapshot' approach, it's hard to come back and write the sequel to the first story that goes back to progression for a character. Ugh.

I keep mixing up tenses and my chapter breaks are weird. It's going to take a few days to get sorted out. :P

Writing for Dragon Age is kinda interesting...particularly for a Morrigan plot post DA: Origins. I mean, I dont want to overstep my bounds and do something absolutely insane but at the same time I'm like I want to guess at what it is the writers have planned for the next one. Then on the structural side of things, I know I need to write more dialouge cause thats the meat of DA writing...but since its in a written form thats not on screen, i want to write about slight movements and nuances the characters give off to explain something without the character having to say it.

Then as you've mentioned Jenn, theres the tense battle. You don't know how badly I wanted to write the story in 1st person but I took this opportunity to try and write in a close 3rd cause that way I can work on getting rid of some bad habits I have when in that tense...like poltergeisting....ugh. XD

I dunno I'm extra worried about sending stuff out there, I don't know if people will love it or hate it but I want people to love it and I feel like a jerk if I mess up. Oh well, its all still fun.

X.x lol.

What does poltergeisting mean? I'm intrigued!

I never write in first person or present tense - I always feel too self-conscious to do that. Close third is my preference always.

Don't worry if people hate it - it's always worth putting out there! I'm off to read now :).

Ok, poltergeisting is when you are mostly in a close 3rd. So like for instance, lets say im writing a story in Lelianna's pov. In a close 3rd as you all probably know, you are nearly writing in first person but without the use of I or the characters own comments on his/her thoughts. So, ok lets say Lelianna wants to buy some fur to make some studded leather armor. As shes looking over the leather, you can say how the smell reminds her of her childhood as she'd walk through a market and you can say how the touch reminded her of the leather suit her first lover wore (lol that sounds erotic)...you can basically describe all of her senses and her reactions toward what thoses senses do. Now, lets say Morrigan is there too; since this is a close 3rd, you can comment on what Morrigan is doing like maybe Lelianna sees Morrigan rolling her eyes and walking away from the moment. Here you can comment on what Lelianna thinks but if you mention what Morrigan is thinking--you can make an assumption though--you have begun to poltergeist. The pov has jumped out of Lelianna's body and breifly inserted itself into Morrigans. So, think of it as a force thats possessing people basically.

This can be done in a means that works though, in novels it can be done because of chapters. Every chapter you can change pov if you want, in a short it can be done but its a lot harder to do.

Thats pretty much all I can really think of to say about that lol.

Ah! I see. I always have breaks between my POV changes - it's annoying sometimes but necessary. I have seen multiple POV work in novels - but only if the author is using omnipotent 3rd - which I hate using because it removes the immediacy IMO.

Read your first chapter - intriguing and I want to know what happens next. Keep it going :).

Hey, you should put it out. Some will hate it, some will love it. And those that hate won't read.

Like Miri, I never write in the first person either, same reason. LOL!

yeah omnipotence kinda annoys the hell outta me too. I had to read Balzac's Pere Goriot...UGH omfg! He told you all of what was gonna happen in the future during the entire book so you could like predict the entire thing. I mean he did some cool and very french things like basically entirely describing a character by how their room looked but at the same time I could do without the "This person will be in jail eventually if they don't change their ways." Its kinda like a no **** sherlock moment...lol

I dunno, you guys are making me happy. I have people to talk about writing to online so I don't have to only depend on some of my friends who i can't see all the time. I appreciate this since I'm going to school for writing so this is why im all like AHHH about my stuff...you're actually kinda taught to be this way too by your professors.

I think fanfiction is a magnificent way to establish your style and practice things - I hadn't written for ages upon ages before I found DA and since then - well if you see how many stories I've cranked out in the last few months... It's been a complete revelation for me.

Just goes to prove that the imagination just needs inspiration!
