It happens quite frequently. At least once a month I'll have a day or two without stats. They've never been down for this long before, though. At least, not in my experience.

Huh... the last news on ff.net

June 11th, 2010 -- We have completed an upgrade that will significantly improve the reliability of our Traffic/Statistic feature. Prior to this update, traffic data can be affected when a server went offline. Now, the traffic recording system can sustain multiple server failures and stilll function as designed.

I see that worked out well for them!

I just emailed to see if they were even aware of the issue. I don't expect a magic wand or anything, I mean, it is a free site. But updating the front page to say "hey, we're aware stats are borked, we're working on it" would be nice.

Oh it's happened for much longer before.  There was a week plus period where some of us had no stats and others did. 

That being said, my stats are broken but I have been getting alerts.

I emailed them yesterday.



My SO who's an electric engineer and so knows a little about such matters was telling my today, "They're kidding themselves if they're saying they've got more than one server online and the stats have failed, someone must be using the other one to watch the [soccer] world cup."

Oh no, don't tell me notifications are broken as well! Mine are slooooww - usually when I post a new chapter the notification comes immediately - now their coming about an hour later. That's why I "update" here as well .

My alerts are broken too as well as the stats. They seem to go hand in hand. I am not getting alerts for everyone. And I am not getting alerts for reviews. I just have to go check my story to see.



@Nadia73, it happens all the time. Last month I went 12 days without stats.

The Zev fangirls are hardcore. I had them rooting for me to bring him in to compete with Anders for Maggie for about a dozen chapters before they gave up.

Shame is, they all missed when he finally did show up... like 100,000 words later (since I'm apparently writing the War and Peace of fanfic. With far more smut and far less literary genius.)

Ooh, you got me beat. I'm only at 209,500 so far. I'll go with Les Misérables of fanfic (again, with far less genius and far more smut), then. I've certainly got that cast of thousands thing going on.



I've got to start sending people away, if I'm having trouble keeping track of the OCs I can't expect anyone else to manage.

Good news everyone! They fixed the frozen slime pipes! Oh, sorry, that is WoW. Um the stats bars are working for me again. And they restored all but Monday and Sunday's. I am at 757 tonight.
