That's exactly what Thane's loyalty mission was. CSI.

Here's the plot scheme in a nutshell:

Talk to Captain Bailey, find the guys who hired Thane's son, tail the guy who Than'e son is killing, stop the murder at the last second, have an epic staredown with Thane's son as he holds the target hostage, cops arive, then it's your decision from there.

Seriously, every aspect reminded me of CSI. I'm not the only one, I'm sure.
