I know that this is a late response, but the varying opinions really made me want to put up my thoughts here and I didn't find an immediate better place to do it. It's also 3:42 in the morning, so please have patience if my wall of text makes little sense.

We need to establish a few basic things before I can continue.

The first is that geth can develop a conscious worship. The heretics worship the reapers, to be 'given the future' as Legion describes their motives. It's noticed in how Saren is described like a prophet-figure in his relation to the geth. He tells Shepard that the geth worship Sovereign, and that the reaper is even offended by this.

[/i]".. than we thought."

Gotta say something about this:  They were given the Reapers' code for being true AI at that point, so it wouldn't be too hard to assume they were only capable of such actions so much earlier than the true Geth because they chose to side with the Old Machines and thus were given the ability.

N7 Armor with a very worn looking? You ask and he says, "data not available..."
One word: time travel. Just kidding, i tought it was something from the Infiltrator game for Android but i think it has nothing to do with it, but never played myself. That time travel stuff would work good as it worked with Star Trek once in a very old episode just for fun. Could add a lot of good facts, extending the back story or maybe it could do a very heavy mess even further.

Why were the geth looking for Shepard anyway?

This one is fairly simple and too the point. I never really have the chance to flush out all of Legion's conversations since you get him late in the campaign and I always rush to save my crew after the Collectors attack on the Normandy, since I learned the Hard way that if you do anything other than head right through the Omega Relay after the obductions you loose almost all the non-essential personnel (even Kelly). So, even though I have plenty of Paragon Bonuses to keep both Tali and Legion, I never really get a chance to talk to him past one or two conversations. I know when you ask him about the Armor and why he kept it, Legion simply says, "Data not available." So...does he ever clarify? Why would a Geth who is not an individual in the strictest sense of the term choose to keep a momento of Commander Shepard?

I you leave the DLC missions like Arrival or Overload or N7 Missions after the Suicide Mission, you can talk to him and take him with you to the missions.
I always do that. I always take Legion to Overlord
