It is a bit creepy when fans of a certain character let their emotions and attachment to that character get out of control.

But it's equally as creepy when other people let those opinions affect their own to this degree. As evidenced by this thread, it's gotten to the point where people have started to dislike something they may have liked before in some sort of odd retaliation for others' extreme views on the subject. Others have started to lash out against these fans, as if their personal tastes are somehow an affront to others' sensibilities.

Does it not strike you as odd that you're letting these people get to you this much? That your enjoyment of a character/game/aspect of gamplay or even these forums are hampered by what you perceive to be the extreme actions of others? That you are somehow unable to ignore the threads about Tali even though those with no strong opinions either way seem to have no trouble doing so? That you feel the need to defend your dislike of this character by lashing out against those who feel differently?

My sympathies for those unable to enjoy certain things because you feel others enjoy them too much. It's a twisted way of thinking, but I doubt a forum post is going to do much to change it.

Tali is my favorite character in the Mass Effect universe. She was a big motivating factor when it came to purchasing Mass Effect 2, I was excited to get the chance to continue her story. I came on this board to voice my support for Mass Effect 2 Tali DLC and for her to remain a focus in Mass Effect 3, but all the fanfiction and fanart in the past couple of days has been a bit too creepy. Some people are actually in love with the character. Straight up infatuated.

I thought Tali was the possibly best character in ME2 - she, Garrus, Miranda and Mordin were the most interesting and complex characters in the game. I do not like the creepy obsessed fans that make so many people hate her.

Here is how I see it.
Miranda = my type of women.....
Ashley = was my first love interest in the game and I still care about her etc....
Liara = one of my favorite ladies in video games.
Samara = one of a kind my type of badass women.

Tali.... = good friend nothing more hell one could say almost like a sister if anything.

Can't stand Jacob really.
Mordin grew on me quickly at first didn't know what I thought about him after talking to him etc he seemed cool.
Legion is one neat robot wish there was more time to take him through the game then last minute.
Kaidan to much like Carth for KOTOR.
Though I did like his story about how he killed that guy who hurt the girl all because she reached for a glass of water instead of pulling it.
The dude got what he had coming to him for hurting that girl by breaking her arm.
I gained some respect for Kaidan there to bad he ended up being nuked.

Garrus is just cool no need to add more to that.
Wrex was a lot better in Me 2 then the first one a lot older and wiser and more reasonable.

Grunt is alright.
EDI = is perfect.....
Joker was funny this time around.

And the two crewmates in engineering Donnelly and Daniels were pretty funny.

Doctor Chakwas it was nice to have her on board the Normandy 2 and having a drink with.

It was also neat to run into  Shiala and help her out again along with Gianna Parasini.



That's how I feel so I didn't hate any of them... .
Oh and I also really liked Kelly Chambers she was a joy to have around.
Plus I like redheads....

I even enjoyed talking with the bartender lady on Ilium in the bar Eternity.

On top of it, it was neat to read emails from others you came across in ME 1.
