Actually, I have no problem with Tali (apart from her obsession to wipe out a race of sentient beings her people created and apart from the lack of responsibility after she gets her whole team dead, however the latter is probably just an oversight), however she's too pushy sometimes. I spent three conversations to point out that 'no, I only build romantic relationships with humans'. On top of that, she's a young, inexperienced, naive girl, and I'm above 30, so I find it very disturbing.
The first option that comes up shall be enough to turn her down.
On the positive side, she became more than a codex entry this time, on the negative side, absolutely no character development there, only some change in circumstances. But that's one thing.

A certain part (the minority I think) speak about her as if they were in real love. Come on, you can't be that desperate, she's not only an alien, but a pixelated character in a video game. (And if now you feel offended, then yes, you are one of them)

Anyways, someone uncovered Tali's true face.

I agree with that, it is healthier for both sides to have both sides confined in their respective threads. I also agree about the negativity, but I don't believe I have been very disrespectful. I'm not a confrontational person, I admit I did insult maturity. I just believe it is easier and more constructive to say "I never liked Tali because her character seemed shallow and I never got her appeal. Plus her rabid fanbase has caused a large amount of annoyance to me personally and I'm tired of seeing it."  Rather than some people saying "All Talimances like Hitler!" or "All Talimancers are horny middle school kids who can't think of anything other than a nerdy girl with boobs and big hips!" I'm bored so I came here and tried to find something to do, and I'm having fun. :)

Really, anybody who would take "All Talimancers like Hitler" seriously deserves to be offended. As does anybody who's dumbfounded by the Tali hate in a Tali hate thread. I firmly stand behind that second one though. I liked Tali's character in ME1, mostly due to Quarian history being so interesting. After helping her find confidence in herself and her abilities, finding the greater universe isn't so hostile, showing some sympathy for the geth and somewhat pulling herself out from under her daddy issues in ME1... she returns in ME2 as the most respected person on the fleet, hero to all Quarians.. with no self confidence, completely under the thumb of daddy's influence, lost all sympathy for the geth and is openly hostile to just about everyone. At least Liara's change, while jarring, had an explanation.

It's however more fun to express that in hyperbole and capslock.

I don't particularly dislike tali's character, but some of these fans border on obsessive.. and the others step over that border.

I understand, well I've said my two cents, guess this is where I get off. Have fun with whatever you decided to do. Free speech is here for a reason, I'm not going to try and stop anyone who is able to form atleast a half-decent arguement for their belief. Goodnight and goodluck.

I used to like Tali but this forum made me hate her

Then ignore the forum or Tali threads. That's extremely easy to do and is no fault of the character in the game or Bioware's direction.

I swear, some people get so upset over the silliest things.

No, it isn't. Not when some Tali fans (granted, not all) crash every thread about Miranda to say how much they hate Miranda, even when the thread has nothing to do with Tali. It seems like thery're threatened by Miranda's presence in the game and wish her to be removed.

I don't like Tali. I also do not dislike her. I'm indiferent to that type of overly sweet character. But I don't want her removed from the game. It's like real life, you have people you like and those you don't care about. Doesn't mean those you don't care about have no right to exist.

Though I have to say, after going to the Migrant fleet, meeting the admirals and then talking to Legion, I grew to seriously dislike the Quarians. I still help those like the one stuck on Omega and the one wrongly accused on the Citadel, but as a whole, in my opinion, the Quarians are just plain wrong about the Quarian/Geth conflict.

Sure, they lost their homeworld, but it was a direct consequence of their attempt at the utter destruction of the Geth. Instead of adapting to the new paradigm (Geth as sentient beings), they decide to treat them as just objects to be disposed of when they no longer fit their needs.

Add to that the fact some Quarians like the other female admiral (Claudia Black is great at playing evil females) and Tali's father, who believe it is their right to enslave the Geth once again, and the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.

is it wrong that i find this thread highly amusing,

i am tali fanboy but i have no need to gush continually on the forums. The obsession of the majority of those in the tali fanboy thread is getting annoying and might end up damaging the character more than anything.

Tali is decent enough as a character, though I don't like the ME2 in-love-with-Shepard Tali. I thought of the two as friends.

Her fans, however, are incredibly irritating (and by fans I mean the ZOMG TALI at any mention of Quarian anything)

I'm a Tali fan but I don't find it necesary to get all emotional about her and sound like an overwhelming fanboy or anything. Most Tali fans are younger and don't know what they're talking about.

I support the idea of this thread, but not what it's about.

Anyway I like Tali, liked her in ME1 and 2, yes some fans are annoying but not all are fanatics, and while there are lots of annoying Tali fans you guys are just as bad, because either your trying to start a flame war, or ddoing the exact same thing as them (cover forums) with a different topic.
And hating her character because of fans is stupid.

To each their own. It's a ****ing videogame character, let those who like her be as fanatic as they wish about it. It's their game experience, and it's pretty cool that a character from a game as garnered as much adulation as Tali has. Same with Garrus, Thane, Legion, Wrex, Mordin, etc, etc, etc.

"Isn't my name" is right. This sort of thread is just as annoying as the one exclaiming and professing its love for Tali.

Although the Tali unmasking pics are quite funny. :D

i dont dislike Tali... the extreme fanboyism gets annoying.

Even so, I wouldnt wish on them what the Ash/Kaiden/Liara supporters had to go through in ME2. That really sucked.

Still, Tali is my sidekick, could never get with her.

Lol hating a character because she's popular. Wow thats sad. If you dislike her just because you don't care for her character, than that's fine. People have different tastes.

Tali seems more like a teenager, I guess thats why she's so popular with the younger teenage players, since she's closer to what a typical teenage girlfriend would be like.
