Try finishing the game with Miranda in your squad, and she will surprise you.

Once I talked to her after I hooked up with Tali and she was assuming that I was coming on to her, (as all females do to the commander) The way she said that she wanted the crew to know that they were together made me feel like she was only after a trophy.

Thanks for having that Tali quote in your signature. You've just discredited Tali fans even further.
Why the hell can't people just like ALL the damn characters?
if your insunuatin tha ti hate miranda cause i like tali, you should know that i Like Jack just as much
I'm not saying that its because you like Tali that you hate Miranda, but rather the combination of your extreme love of one romance character and extreme hate of another that furthers the sterotype that Tali fans are all obsessive bigots. It doesn't matter if this is true or not, but this is the appearance that it gives.

Criticizing weariness of constant hate is a bit tyrannical isn't it? Try not dodging the question to cover yourself, its more obvious than you believe.
I think that if you're actually becoming distressed by a thread on a forum, then there is a problem there and you should take some time off. Not saying that it has never happened to me, but that usually is the solution. The internet really isn't such serious business.

Right, no real character development, except for that whole "being able to convince her that she took take pride in her accomplishments even though she is 'unnatural'" thing. No character development at all besides that.Himmelstor wrote...

I love how Mirandas fans base her entire character growth on the last five minutes of the game
Aye, I really don't see how that change even happens, but it sounds like it can't be that convincing. "I used to believe everything you said without question, but I don't like this one proposal so my entire world view is now changed and I'm leaving the organization that has been my home my entire adult life!"
Well, at least that's how I imagine it happens, I'll be sure to check it out if I can ever stand to have her in my team during the suicide mission.

The last five minutes of the game? Perhaps when I was talking about how she will surprise you if you fight the last boss with her in your squad, sure. But, the other detail I mentioned was part of Shepard's on-the-Normandy dialogue with her. Also, there's the whole, "hey, she's not a completely heartless witch after all" quality of her loyalty mission.

Based on your language in the first post, I'd say that your statement indicated something was wrong with him because of it. It doesn't matter how trivial the subject is that your anger arises over, its the fact that it's something you've invested time/thought in (peripherally because of Mass Effect). He has reason to become upset, because its something he cares about. Individuals decide for themselves what it is they should care about, not a single objective persepective.

The loyalty quest does her some good. It makes her appear to be a human instead of a crafted tool, but while she is human and does care about some people, it's clear in her conflict with Jack that she is not a good person.

If he wants to get upset over an internet conversation then fine, just doesn't sound healthy to me. Ultimately I have very little power or interest in controlling the life of anyone. If you want to repeatedly stab yourself with a fork, go ahead, just doesn't sound like much fun to me.

Even I was pretty big into my support of the Illusive Man and Cerberus' ideals, but what happens and what he says at the end of the suicide mission changed my mind, too.
"Cerberus IS humanity"? I think not, good ser, not at that price!

I don't think it's clear at all. She admits that what was done to Jack was a mistake, and the Zero Cell was out of control. What more do you want her to do? Console Jack about her lost childhood? That's about as likely to get Jack to kill you as telling her off.

she completlye refuses to admit that Cerberus was responsible, even if they did go rouge TIM still signed off on Kidnapping kids to make them into weapons

Seemed to be completely in line with his character to me, but eh.

When does she say this? I reprimanded her because she was essentially sweeping the incident under the rug claiming that it wasn't Cerberus' doing, then I go to her office, ask her if we'r good and she gives me that arrogant "not remotely." After that, I used the paragon option on her which forced me to act like I was just patronizing Jack because she was crazy, which then lead her to compliment me on keeping my mind on the mission.
Never had the exchange that you're referring to, nor did she ever imply any empathy for her situation whatsoever. Perhaps she's just a totally different person if you're romancing her, but I can only comment on how she was with my Shepard.

It's clear which people in this thread talked to Miranda more than once or twice and which didn't...Which is fine, but just don't think you can make grand proclamations about the character's personality or lack thereof without making yourself look foolish to those who DID actually talk to her.
I did talk to her
which is why i can say this with all honest
so did every one else hating on her
your just stickign your fingers in your ears pretendign that its not happing
Appropriate cause thats what Miranda dose as well
