Exactly what it says on the tin.

I can't decide whether they're extremely annoying to fight, or incredibly annoying to fight. They're the infuriating combination of having a zillion hitpoints, being armored, and having an unblockable (i.e. ignores cover) attack that's difficult to dodge at close range. Then when you do get hit with their damned shockwave, it stops regeneration for a period of time, adding one final F-U from the devs.

They're the only enemy that ever killed me on normal difficulty, and although I don't really have any problems breezing through them thesedays, they're still my most hated enemy by far and I loathe fighting them. They're challenging, but not in a satisfying way. They're challenging in an "oh god the computer is cheating" way, where you feel violated after you beat them instead of satisfied.

The main thing is that they are supposed to be Lieutenant-level enemies, and they're simply absurdly over-armored.

Now this thread irks me. I really felt an emotional connection to the Scions. If you don't like them, then you're a sheep that never took the time to understand them. Try doing their loyalty mission.

I am am playing through on insanity and I hate scions so bad I used the Mcain on the two scions(first wave) at the end of horizon instead of the Praetorian boss!

I hate those flying bastards. The ones who shield over and over. I swear, one time I reduced the health bar to NOTHING. You know, when ity just shows the name? Anyways, three times in a row the bastard used shields the milisecond I took down the previous ones.

Try Tali's Drone on them.... it seems to be able to interrupt their attacks for a good while, especially when you are firing at them.

I think they come down easy with a few sniper rounds and incinerate...I hate the husks more...they don't die!!!

After fighting them on insanity I tried on normal and was surprised how quickly they died.



A couple clips of anti-armor weaponry and they go splat. Easy. Almost boring. They're meant to be the slow tanky types.

I agree.  Scions got nuthin' on the Praetorians.   Those things are beasts!

I can snipe the Scions in a few shots...no problem.

Insanity Mode it takes more than a "few" sniper rounds even with Incendiary or Armor Piercing ammo up. Maybe it's because I'm using the Mantis instead of the Widow, but even my Revenant at close range takes quite some time to whittle them down.



Incineration and Inferno Grenade are great but it still takes a while just by how much total armor they have.



Warp actually seemed to work the best out of everything I tried on them.

i FOUND a quick and satisfiying way of killing scions easier, After being EXTREMELY depressed from the fact that they are invinceable to the black holes, the sniper rifle that shoots like a machine gun takes em out quickly, preferably in the head, they lose balance, but still a pain in the ass none the less

Yea scions are ridiculous, any sequence with them is pretty much the only time i will lose a squadmate or have to reload.
