Which one do you like the best? Could be because you like the playstyle, the ammo count, the sound, whatever you want.

Favorite Sniper Rifle

Note: Not which sniper you feel is the best, although if thats your reason for liking one the most, by all means go for it.

My Weapon of Choice is the Viper, because you have enough Ammo, a big Clip and can miss your Target and still give it some headshots afterwards *g

This Weapon really saved my from situations, when 2 Scions blasted my Teammates away and i could only fight them over distance; oneshot Rifles would have been a pain in the a55 for this.

I voted for the M-29 Incisor Rifle. I loved using the Widow during my Infiltrator run, with its 1 shots, but I really like the burst fire aspect, the sounds, and how it seems my squad is really good when using the M-29. Try out taking garrus/zaeed/thane/legion with you and have them all use the M-29 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Nothing beats the Widow when it comes to sniper rifles. Pure God-like weapon.

The widow is so awesome, I picked it on my soldier. That's what made me roll an infiltrator in the first place. I'm really glad the sniper rifles don't totally suck in this game.

Anyone else notice how the description for the Widow is pretty much exactly like what the Barrett .50-Caliber does IRL? They even look somewhat alike.

Thing is, with my playstyle, aka drop shields and burn da motafuka, Widow has barely enough ammo, propably there are ammo upgrades for it but i mean for me it carries 13 shots.. even if it does IMMENSE damage i figure im better off with the viper, with its semi auto capability...

I prefer the X-98e Widow Anti-Material Rifle all the way (the X-98e is when it's fully upgraded). Sure it doesn't have a 3-shot burst or a 12-round clip, it makes up for it by having ungodly amounts of firepower whenever it hits someone or something in the head with the right ammo mod.

While doing Tali's recruitment after picking up Legion, I saw good old Legion whip out his Widow against the Geth Colossus at the end. With all the upgrades to it, I was shocked when I saw Legion fire one shot at that monster and take away half it's health (armor) in one hit. One hit.

widow. The mantis is garbage with infiltrator, and incisor burn ammos too fast.

Anyway, incisor with a squad mate is a i win button, they have infinite ammos, and this gun do a nice amount of damage.

With the widow i m able to 2shot a scion in normal, that's fun

On my first play through as a soldier I chose the Widow and regretted not getting the heavy assault rifle. The widow is too slow and limited ammo makes it a pain always looking for ammo.



Second play through as infiltrator i chose the assault rifle training and stuck with the Viper as sniper rifle, using warp ammo I can own most anything at range and when they get up close I switch to the vindicator.

Widow. Not much is as satisfying as dropping an enemy with one shot. With disruptor ammo, it even drops shielded enemies in one hit. When I got it, I one-shot Harbinger and wiped the rest of the room even before he could finish his "assuming direct control" line.

Agreed with many others here, the widow and even the first sniper are amazing when combined with disruptor ammo, cloak (increased 1 shot damage) and visor (increased headshot damage).



The base where you are freeing jack. You can actually 2 shot the boss at the end before his shields engage. Now THAT is fun.

Yeah, the Viper is pretty decent on Casual, but if you're playing on anything past that, you're definitely going to love the Widow.  (Even the default starting sniper rifle is better than the Viper on anything past Casual)

I love the X-98 Widow. It exemplifies everything a sniper rifle should be: 1 shot, 1 kill.
You haven't lived until you've 2 shot a Scion imo.

I got the Viper on my last run and hated it. Everytime I headshot an enemy, it would do this annoying wiggle where its head shook all over the place. It meant I couldn't chain headshots defeating the purpose of even having a semiauto rifle in the first place.

Maybe I just suck. Do others find they can chain headshots into an enemy with the Viper?

P.S.
The Incisor is garbage! It's worse than the starting Mantis Sniper Rifle.  It does less damage in 3 shots than the Mantis does in 1.
Also, if you fire at an enemy's head, the headwiggle means that the next 2 shots will always miss!  Frankly, if you can't headshot with it, then it isn't a sniper rifle in my opinion.

On easier difficulties I prefer the Widow and on the harder difficulties hardcore or above I prefer the Viper since the Widow doesn't kill many things in one hit on the harder difficulties
