 I was going to do a series of Tali without her helmet, and explore some ideas... More so out of curiosity visually as to what " felt" in line with what little we can tell from the game/books/ etc. I see alot of beautiful fan art of her, but always find them too elven, or too too human, and though they seen " face wise" to be similar I wanted to change up a few things.... anyway  so here they are so far, I may play with them more in-depth later.

The marks on the forhead is a great touch. Black eyes with the white looks perfict. And again black hair just looks so good.

Dark hair looks extremely good. Every one thinks their purple though. Walking around the Quarian ship it looked like the color of the suits was just a personal choice... or maybe a status thing. I'd imagine they would have pale skin. Maybe light purple since people are leaning that way. I could take it or leave it whether or not we see her face. It would be nice and at the same time the voice is good enough.
The bird feet give me the impression of feathers, but could also be scales or the kind of hair style the Asari have.... I just hope it's not tentacles though. Maybe a little bit or hair in the front buzzed, and longer hair in the back...not mullet like though.

No hair?..... We already have Jack sporting the G.I. Jane look.
The art work you did is great though.

With the skin, when the images are larger it's alitle more blotchy, and lightly lextured. I tried to lighten the face itself, and darken it as it wraps around.

as for what traits we " do know" it's tough. In Ascension they were just as vague as the games. They did hint at the lack of human like ears. The only real clue to skin tone ( if I remember reading right ) comes from a male Quarrian who was dead/near dead from infection ( but again, I may be mixing up what I read. )

The picture WinterJedi posted looks sort of nice, but that's actually how I'd imagine a male Quarian. Oh wait... *rushes to check if Tali's gender was clearly stated*... *phew*

Nicely done. I think you can take long hair out of the equation. Noone in ME has long hair. The exact reasons why have to do with animation/art and the like and aren't worth getting into. So while your first one is probably along the lines many of us would hope for, it won't happen.



My theory is that since the women Quarians all have a scarf or burka like thing at the back of their helmets, that is where they would put their hair. It's buckled down so still air tight when it needs to be, likely made out of some fiber that can be air tight. Regardless of that theory though, if Quarians have hair it will be short, like everyone else.

I was thinking that too on the short hair, or possibly back in braids. If not a " true hair" Im almost thinking it would fall someplace between hair and feather in structure.

I also like this one. So many concepts make her look too sexy, here she still looks good, but more cute than sexy, which I think fits Tali's character better. It also doesn't betray what we presumably know about her face (the somewhat angular eyes, for instance).

Unless Bioware pulled a Bungie and simply left her face as her helmet mask like how Bungie made Master Chief's face another helmet after the scene in Halo 1 where he takes off his helmet (only for it to be obscured by the camera).

garunteed there is a place holder face in quarian masks right now. otherwise they would have unmasked them in ME 2.... think about it, why waste money/time developing something that isnt seen in the game? very, very pointless.

Sadly thats all I have to work off. there is the place holders, and the description in Ascension was just a vague, so I just had to follow my gut, and hope for the best.

Theres definitly a face under there.
