Yup, hands down, Sten and Jack are my two least favorite Bioware companions.

Jack is ugly on the outside. But she's just a misunderstood sweet girl on the inside, right? WRONG.
Jack actually manages to be uglier on the inside than on the outside.
Right after doing her loyalty mission, she annoyingly picks a fight with Miranda (hmm...perfect woman...versus barely qualifies as a woman...guess whom I'll side with), making her loyal to me for an impressive 2 minutes.

Death to Jack! She died in my first playthrough, and I consider it my personal responsibility to ensure that she dies in all playthroughs to come.

That is all.

Okay, she's definetly not THAT bad. I must say she was as compelling a character as any other of Bioware's, though I didn't particularly like her.

Bioware has already made a character like Jack, Viconia from Baldur's Gate 2, and she's much better written.

Seriously, some people have no clue how such a word as hate has a more deeper meaning than they use it for, you are proof of this.

You basically state you intensely dislike a video game character... and for the reasons you've given? If you do, you have issues and should seek professional help.

All this Jack hate is really starting to get annoying. I swear the second they don't give a character long flowing hair and a disproportionate body or some crap they are labled as ugly. What makes Miranda so much better than Jack? I can't stand characters like Miranda, boring as hell. Jack has something to her. She is easily one of the more interesting characters in the game. If they had dolled up Jack like they did Miranda and kept the same exact personality we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

She is a major whiner. First she pretends that she was so badly treated at Pragia when in fact we find out it was all the other poor biotic inmates who were sacrificed for her.

She doesn't "pretend" she was treated badly. She was. While others were possibly treated even worse she had no idea about it until you come to visit the facility (and she visibly struggles with coming to terms with that revelation there) and it doesn't make what she was put through any better.

If someone cuts your leg off with a chainsaw it isn't going to hurt any less when you find out someone else lost both legs in the same way. If it was, no one *ever* would have 'right' to complain about their situation because there's always someone out there who has it even worse.

The only thing I didn't like about Jack is that I accidentally triggered her romance and stopped talking to her for fear I would loser her loyalty by turning her down.

its a little more then not having a good  child hood, what with the torture, mental conditonign for murder, and sexual abuse

Jack had potential, but the whole writing just got stuck on the "Ugly on the outside, ****ing ugly on the inside!" thing, it was all the same, all the time. I like the progress I make with my crew, but she was always the same. Hell, even after the loyality-mission you could barely call her loyal!

you know most of the reasons u listed are retarded- a lot of them are simply about her looks- not all gamers are perverts we dont like or dislike a character just for what they look like thats a terrible way to decide who to favour

and since u said that "fought with miranda" as a bad point ur clearly just some pervert that likes staring at miranda( how old are you shes an animated image get over it) also jack is right in that argument anyway- she was tortured and experimented on by cerberus and miranda is nothing more than a mindless cerberus drone

you cant call her "cold" because if u romance her she has the most emotional and soft sex scene

Right, okay, does that make her any more tolerable to be around? She doesn't seem to have developed any real depth to her personality through all of this, it's just this ridiculously cliched "I hate the world, I hate everything, I won't follow your rules, conformist!" attitude. She breaks down if Shepard has romance with her. Which i found to be the one thing that's too cliche about her. Well that and the whole "i want to sex you up but i want to learn what makes you tick" line from Shepard if you do the "paragon" romance. Smug ******.

yes actualy once you get ehr to open up to you she dose get more plesant to be around

as for depth shes probly the dpest character in the game

I liked Jack, and I loved the Renegade method of handling the climax of her loyalty mission. It was awesome being able to play devil's advocate like that.

The fact that it turned out she just wasn't as tough as she thought she was also impressed me. She thought she was a victim, and got the worst of everything Cerberus could do, but relatively speaking she had it easy.

Aslo, am I the only one who thought Jack's part in the game was a sort of child-soldier-growing-up story without the fighting in a war part? Horrible, violent past, and an inability to adjust to and integrate into the real world because of it?

Yeah, but I don't consider that good writing, if you have A) to romance her and she acts exactly like the whole cliché commands it. I love how you slowly befriend Grunt and how he starts to develop an own personality and shares that with you. Might be strange, but I like it, how happy he is when he decides to hate Turians, because of what they did to his kind (and so, starts to look at himself like a real Krogan.) Jack has not to become the little girl, but she should simply open up and maybe find some hope, that she has in fact neither to be the axe-crazy ****, nor the weak little girl. But no, she is just "I hate you all, do me or I'll hate you too." or in case of Fem!Shepard "I'm not going to bang you, **** off"
