More than even the human aspect, his Highest duty as an officer was to assure the health and safety of his crew. I can't think of a more eregrious breach of that duty that wantonly poisoning and abusing half the crew, supressing the other and forcing all to remain in a brain rotting hellhole...
that's it, though. i can't remember the succession of command heirarchy, but a big part of the story is that he was never a fit leader and the others knew it and tried to replace him right at the start. he was always a power-hungry pig
who finally got his chance. seriously, he sicced the mechs on the guy everyone else wanted as leader. if ever there could be justification for pre-emptive murder, that was one.

Well BioWare's the same bunch of developers who, in Jade Empire, thought that selling a mother and daughter into slavery was more "Closed Fist" than teaching the daughter to kill the slaver and set herself free.
Closed Fist being a philosophy of personal strength triumphing all and not cartoonish supervilliany.
The lesson? BioWare don't know anything about their own morality systems.
Getting the daughter to kill that slaver was one of the most fufilling moments of my gaming life.
The only way BW could have made it better is if I could have turned around and gotten the CF master who teaches you tempest to take the chick on as an apprentice.

Um yeah, serial rapist megalomaniac is on my short list of people my Paragon would actually kill.
That said, I think you all missed the most fun option, which was letting him be ripped to shreds by those crazed hunters. Mmm, justice.
Is that the middle option for leaving him on the hell he created? Does it happen straight away?
I ummed and ahhed about taking that on first playthrough, but as my renegade was a female, she just figured he was worth the ammo and I wasn't sure if Shep would mention getting the others off the planet who did deserve to be rescued.
Am going to take the OP comments as a joke, because seriously, what his dad did was seriously messed up and if you can't see that you have issues.
The middle option happens...IMMEDIATELY. Like, before Shepard and Co. even take three steps away. It is by far the most hilarious moment in the game to me and thank God I now have FRAPS to record so I won't have to keep on replaying the mission to see it. OMFG LOL hilarious when retribution shows up on the Express like that

What I got out of the level is that supplies were taken to those in command that need the food to remain in a stable mental state to deal with the problem of being stranded on the planet. The rest of the crew ate toxic food, knowingly or unknowingly I am not sure. They then turned on the command killing them but leaving Jacob's father alive but trapping him where you find him in the mission. He had enough supplies there to last as long as he did with the help of the mechs' protection but soon needed to risk his life to call for help. So he managed to reach the beacon to call for help instead of waiting for it. Explain to me what is wrong with what I said but nothing I couldn't find anything in the level that suggests otherwise.
The beacon to call for help was fixed a long time ago, he didn't call for help until recently when his men turned on him. They only turned on him recently because they no longer believe he was going to help them get resuced. When the father got trapped, he turned on the beacon. He didn't want to turn it on but it was the only way to save his life. He enjoyed living like a king and having girls do whatever he wanted.

I believe you might benefit more if you actually replay that episode and actually listen to the audioclips in the ship and pay attention to everything else. Especially where Jacob says that his father made the women his slaves.SkilledAmerica wrote... Yeah, I would have liked the option to tell him to shut the fr4< up too.DOYOURLABS wrote... And Jacob making jerk replies to everything Ronald said was annoying.

And you saw the situation as Taylor would have liked you to see it, entirely possible.
With a little digging you can find that things were far worse than that.

I'm sorry, but, if it was my father...
I would be very, very pissed. Good ol' Dad, had that beacon ready long ago but decided it was more fun to stick around and rape women instead...
Actually, that doesn't sound very far off from my father. Great. Now I'm depressed.
Somebody post a cheery picture of a cookie.

He'd just found out his father was a lying, hypocritical, murdering power-hungry rapist who'd betrayed every ideal he'd taught him.
What sort of replies should he have made?

It's everything that happened after that which I minded..
Although, I'd have included the doctor and the best engineer in the group allowed access to the ships rations, and probably have voluntarily added myself to the group eating the toxic food to try to lead by example.

I didn't enjoy Jacob's tirade after every single comment made by his father though as they were making their way towards him. Even with all the data, if it were my father I'd at least confront him face-to-face about it and pass judgement then rather than jump straight to it. I'd owe my dad that much, and given Jacob's dad's service record, Jacob owed him that too.
