Where do you get the amplifier plates, and Shield harness?

Amp plates are found on Illiums store. The shield harness is found in one of the stores (maybe Tuchanka) after the collector ship mission.

Also N7 armor weak? lol please
-10% Shield Regneration rate should not be underestimated.
Neither should the strength boost pads.

Most of the armors can be recreated through N7 armor. The only two truly unique armors outside the N7 is the collector and the blood dragon armor.

Actually Terminus is unique in the fact that it gives 15% Shields, 10% ammo to all guns, and increase in sprint spead, you can't get all three with N7 YET, if you go for 15% shields you can't get the 10% ammo or vice versa.

eh, it gets the runner up as far as uniqueness goes after blood dragon, N7,and collector armor but you make a good point.

I use it until I get all the N7 pieces and I love the look of it, black and angular FTWImage IPB
Its overall power is questionable, but I found the extra shot with heavy weapons is very usefull, and the extra 10% storm on a commando soldier makes you able to go VERY VERY far.

Um, some of the pieces are imho some of the best in the game, you just seem to have the worst ones there.  The shield harness chest piece, power amplifying shoulder pads, stabilizer gauntlets and the life support leggings (can't remember the actual names) are the best in the game, better than the bonuses you get for the other armour types at any rate.

I have every piece, they're not hard to find.  Life Support Webbing is probably the only truly good piece, and it's available on the Citadel right after Freedom's Progress.  Still, you'd have a hard time saying that the massive +health you can stack with that is better than the Cerberus Assault Armor (I'd say you could make the case though, since regular ammo > heavy weapon ammo), and you definitely can't say it's better than the Collector Armor.

Of course, one piece of armor that's massively unbalanced with every other piece in the set doesn't make that set good, it makes it tolerable if you're trying to stack +health.

I actually build armor very differently than most, I also think that Terminus is better than Cerberus all ammo>heavy 15% Shields + 10% Storm > 10% Shields +10% Health.
My main armor is capacitor (10% faster regen, 10% sprint speed 5% shields (gauntlets) 5%Health (N7 Breather) 25% melee, this is my personal favorite set up, less down time=awsome.

Depends on the class.

For my Soldier on Insanity, I went with as much +weapon damage as I could.

For my Vanguard on Insanity, I went with as much +shields/+health as I could, with the +melee shoulders.

I imagine for a "caster" class, I would probably just go with the Blood Dragon Armor. It has good all-around bonuses and looks cool.

Armour in ME2 is almost purely subjective. And really, unless you're only trying to boost one stat (i.e. 25% health), the bonuses are too negligible to be noticeable in any way and you may as well as base your armour choice on looks.

I did like the Blood Dragon and Recon Hood, until I found the Kuwashii Visor. I loved it besides the fact that I was a Infiltrator. Nothing else matters when I can put a Scouter on my character lol. I do wish it looked more like Garrus' though. (Replayed ME1 again and noticed C-Sec had Kuwashii Visors)
