I have thus far not been able to find a way to alter the cd key, the reason why i want to change it is that me and a friend is currently playing with the same key, but since i now got my collectors edition i would like to change over to the key from that.
I have tried reinstalling, wich did not ask me for a cd key. And i have tried regedit, where i can not find a Bioware folder under software.
Please help.
How to change my Mass Effect 2 cd key?

The game-key is found in this registry key. You can try changing it manually. Write down the original game-key just for a backup.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA Games/Mass Effect 2/ergc]
In 64 bit Vista or Seven the key is in "Wow6432Node":
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Electronic Arts/EA Games/Mass Effect 2/ergc]
Or, just delete the current game-key in the registry (don't delete the registry key - just delete the data), run the game and see if it asks for a new game-key. Double-click the "(Default)" data entry then just backspace out the data so you have a blank data item.
Otherwise... The registry keys for the game should be removed if you uninstall.
You can try removing these registry keys if they're still there after uninstalling then reinstall the game.
For 64 bit Vista or Seven look in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/...]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/BioWare]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/BioWare/Mass Effect 2]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA Games/Mass Effect 2]
