After you were being rescued from the Tower of Ishal, you get a piece of conversation about what happened to the survivors there and Morrigan mentioned some of them are being dragged underground. In Return to Ostagar you get recover his weapons, yes, but not his body. In the new trailer for Awakening you get to venture into the Deep Roads once more, perhaps to rescue Duncan?

That would be awesome. I'd really like to see this in the expansion and it would explain the missing body.

If it was possible to rescue him, I really wouldn't want to know before I can play the game myself.

I don't really think so, but it would be great.

It's been a long time since the battle at Ostagar, if Duncan was taken alive, then surely the Darkspawn have done something to him by now.

What? Duncan in the party? Oh, please. The bloody darkspawn would just turn around and retire should this happen. We all know he's now enjoying the sun somewhere on a remote beach of Antiva, with a lot of ladies around him...

Duncan is DEAD

Return to Ostagar

Your memories of the battle of Ostagar will haunt you for years to come. It laid waste to your order and claimed the lives of many great men and women, including the brash young King Cailan and your mentor, Duncan.

Nuh... not anymore at least. I mean, I got all the achievements I could and if I would want to have more... I should buy the DLCs. But I can't neither make a PayPal account nor pay with my debit card on this site! RAARGH!

Umm... I am sorry, but... ehh... who are you? There are quite a lot of members, and appearentely you changed names.
Edit : you don't happen to be one of the old super-gods of the Baldur's Gate forums with a different name, no?
also, I just finished a BG multiplayer run with my brother. Very fun game.

Begone you literate person!
How dare you read stuff and form an educated opinion!?!
How dare you try and squash people's hopes, when the lack of a body proves not only that Duncan lived, but also the majority of soldiers that fought at Ostagar!

edit: stupid typos. Hit an O instead of an I and suddenly lived becomes loved...

Duncan is dead means nothing! In Baldur's Gate, you can kill the same person, not twice, but 3 times!!

His body only wasnt found because he was simply an enemy soldier so they ate his corpse. They put king cailan up since he was a high ranking enemy commander, leader of course.

An enemy soldier? I'd rather call him a new god among the darkspawn!

Duncan is the Chuck Norris of DAO, He is the Jesus of the Grey Warden's.

In RTO his body was missing only his weapons were there. He could have escaped one way or another.

Morrigan and duncan mentions about the darkspawn taking bodys of the fallen, what they do with the bodys is not known i think they carry out their own "ritual" and creates a darkspawn from the body so my money is on duncans alive but not human no more!
