The console versions of the game play and feel a bit different, with good reason. BioWare redesigned several aspects of the game for consoles, such as the user interface and the camera. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions look more like a standard third-person action game, with an over-the-shoulder camera and a speedier feel to combat. Players can map six abilities or items to the face-button, using the right trigger to toggle between two hotkey sets. Pulling the left trigger opens a radial menu that pauses the action and allows players to choose from the complete set of available attacks and items at their leisure. The difficulty has been altered as well, with the Normal setting on consoles roughly equivalent to Easy on PC. Despite these changes, BioWare is insistent that absolutely nothing from the PC game was removed from the console versions, merely tweaked so that players on every platform experience it in the best way possible.

The difference between the console and PC normal mode is that friendly fire on the console is completely disabled on normal, whereas it is toned down to 50% on the PC. This is because you will not have the ability to control multiple party members at a time on the console, making friendly fire much more of a problem.
There's also a difference in many of the encounters you will see in the game, with some of the larger scale battles being reduces to smaller waves of enemies on the console, although they will be stronger to compensate for the numbers.

Interesting news about the console version. Kind of weird. Hmmmm, I wonder what that says about how much tactical control you need to survive the highest difficulty on PC?...I'm suddenly very intrigued ^,^

It was most likely done because the consoles have a harder time micromanaging (unless you have a PS3 with mouse/keyboard, in which case you should petition BioWare for extra difficulty).

At the very least, you don't sound like a egotistical, obnoxious twit in this post.

The AI script is reportedly very customizable and deep, so you should be okay outside of Nightmare.Napoleon1853 wrote...
I guess I don't like to micromanage my party members a ton and I will be playing on the PC. I want to be able to set them up to where they will be able to act on their own except when I desperately need to control them in order to win a fight.

Essentially, yes. I don't expect it to be any less difficult. Any changes that would affect the difficulty are made to compensate for a lack of feature that would in turn make it harder.flamechamp23 wrote...
so i dont understand then. Besides the friendly fire being turned off completely on the console's mode of normal, will the difficulties still be the same on the pc and consoles? Will the xbox 360 version still get a nightmare mode equivalent to the nightmare mode on the pc version?

message detail yeah pretty much... so Nightmare will, in actuality, be only Hard mode on the console. that's kind of depressing...

Obviously the Dwarven mage would have to be a Nightmare playthrough, otherwise it would be waaay too easy.JEBesh wrote...
I resent that. Playing a Dwarf Mage on normal with no FF would take the fun out of the game.

either way
i think they got the difficulty down/ as in just right
its just gonna be different
i wonder why they cant let me press a button and have a flag during pause move and map out a route for my characters to go like in overlord but just maps a line or a position for my character to move
oh right not enough room
