I just took the Assassin specialization on my imported ME1 Infiltrator, which says it provides a 70% bonus to Paragon & Renegade points. What exactly does this do? I have seen no effect in the game at all. Neither of my bars showing current points changed at all, and I still seem to be getting the same exact points for conversation choices or interrupts.

Glitch maybe? It works fine for me. Starting a new character usually fixes it, but that is inconvenient.

No doubt you have not noticed it yet since you have yet to come to some of the those pesky game breaking moments that annoy the hell out of everyone else on the boards like being able to keep the loyalty of both Jack and Miranda when they are clawing and hissing at each other like alley cats in heat.

You're not seeing your bars increasing because Assassin and Operative rank 3 have the same paragon/renegade bonus (+70%). You would see it happen if you spec to Agent, which offers +100%.

The bonus also does not affect the points earned. If an option gives +5 points, you'll earn +5 points. However, your meters will gain up to +10 points depending on your current multiplier (your meters represent your effective score, not your actual score - and your effective score is the one that's used for unlocking charm/intimidate options in conversations).
