Do I have to register my game for profile info to show up and if I register it, can my husband register the same game to his account, because we both play it?

You don't have to register to upload info but it is difficult to access otherwise. I believe it is possible to register the same key multiple times. Mind that promo codes are one-shot and tied to specific accounts.
