Mass Effect had just too many mods... and I mean the "rank" differences, from "I" to "X" (example: "Shredder Rounds VII"). If each mod has only three ranks for example, and the inventory was better arranged I would have regarded the original as better. It's just too cluttered right now...

Mass Effect 2 is good, bit just too limited. OK, Shepard's N7 armor is very nice and there are a few other optional armor sets. But what's up with the squad members? There's absolutely no control over what they wear, visually and stat wise. That's a huge letdown for me.

A simplified version of Shepard's N7 for the squad-members, maybe mixed with a limited version of Mass Effect's modding would be incredible.

Your idea is good, I would also be very happy with this kind of system.
I also think that the N7 parts should have better stats, in ME 2 most of them seem a little bit useless (5% to shields/weapon damage/power damage when these should be more like 20% upgrades to stats).

I've read everyones comments about the armor system, and there seems to four basic wishes:

1.Every squadmate gets an actual armor

2.Armors have the helmet on/off toggle

3.These armors should be upgradable in some way

4.Custom paint jobs for the armors

The fact that you consider a helmet toggle to be an RP option I consider bad news for the future of RPGs... >.>

Yeah, sounds good to me- sound like a loooooot of work XD
also I'd like to see varied light and heavy armor- I wanted lighter armor than what was given in ME2. The plating textures/designs were beautiful, just kinda wanted it on the light armor from ME1, that kinda thing ;)

I was thinking that it might be cool to give Shepard a power armor, like
this (from Fallout Tactics):

Image IPB

Powered
exoskeletons exist already, so it really isn't stretch to think that
there would be one in two hundred years from now. I could imagine that
Cerberus and Alliance would like to have their soldiers on even footing
with the Krogans physically. Or do you guys think that powered armor
wouldn't fit in ME universe.

This is the kind of armor they could give for Miranda:

This actually looks like an armor, but it still retains her best assets.

Apparently every idea for the new armor system has been said. Now well just have to hope that BW does something about it.

Power Armor (Fallout) < Power Armor (Starship Troopers)

Anyone who has read the book knows what I'm talkin' about. B)
