Same issue for me right before crossing the bridge after the Joining. Any saves in Ostagar are borked and cause the same game crash. I can reload back to Morrigan's mom, but never any saves in Ostagar. This is just insane.
I can redo the same content with Morrigan, go back to Ostagar, and the game ALWAYS crashes after the Joining once I get to the bridge en route to the tower with Alistair.

The crashing is a pretty wide-spread problem. I believe they are working on a patch. There's a thread about Win 7 x64 where we've had some developer interaction. I'd advise going there, reading through some of it to make sure the problems match up (though I understand this isn't just a win 7 x64 problem anymore) and posting your specs to help to devs start to see a pattern. Also, as painful as it is, going through the official EA channels will also help to expedite accurate patching of the game.

At this rate I'm strongly considering putting this game aside until these issues are fixed. As it stands, I'm getting too many headaches from this.

I have had about 3 crashed when zonning itno zones. I really hope they adress this issue soon. Otherwise one of the best RPG's I have played in some time.

Same here, I'm actually using XP w/ a nvidia video card. I crash everytime I try to leave the Chantry or load a game that was saved in in the first city after the joining.

I have played for 13-15 hours and only had two crashes on the first day this game came out, and both crashes to desktop where in Lothering.
No crashes the last 2-3 days though luckily.
Windows XP, Nvidia card, ASUS motherboard and Quadcore.
All I can really say is
1) make sure you have all your hardware updated
2) Defrag your computer and make sure you have most of your other programs closed

I continously have crashes and it is irritating. I'm so sick of talking to the same npcs again and again and again.

Im having the same problem. I managed to run like hell and get out of Ostagar into the wilds, and out of lothering (sp?). I have numerous crashes between all of that and now im most of the way through the Warden's keep and cant even last 10 sec without crashing! It forces me to reboot my comp. I havnt even gotten into the heat of the story yet.
I keep getting the "Driver display ATI family has decided to give you the finger but has been recovered" error.
anyone know how to fix this?
Drivers are all up to date, and its a newly reformatted comp. I even took the 10 sec to defrag a comp with nothing on it.

I've got the same problem. I can not get past the bridge when you first get to Ostagar, as it crashes to the desktop with the "Dragon Age has stopped working" error. I've tried fiddling with the settings to no avail and have tried a couple of different characters to boot. The patch was utterly useless too.

Same here with crashing on the bridge in Ostagar.
Vista box with an 8800GT and the latest nVidia drivers. Quad core 6600.
The same exact PC on XP worked flawlessly (upgraded since to Vista). Not one crash.

Well guess I'm glad that I am not the only one with problems...
Same problem most of you have, where I crash over and over while in Ostagar.
Windows XP, Nvidia card, ASUS motherboard and Quadcore...which happens to be the same (at least from what was posted) as kozzy420420, but I'm not having the same amount of fun

weird actually that you guys have so many problems. I've yet to encounter a single crash. None since I started playing. and I have almost ancient confguration Win XP 64, Athlon 64, 2 GB RAM, Radeon x1600 AGP, and the absolutely ancient DFI Lanparty UT 250 GB motherboard :\\

Check your CPU voltages. I was undervolting mine because it run just fine with lower voltages (and was cooler...) Because this game is more CPU dependant (4 cores support...) Use stock voltages, that helped for me. No more crashing or freezing.
