In the C:\\Documents and Settings\\Compaq_Owner\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2 folder there is a Screenshot folder, so I believe I'm safe in assuming there's a way to take screenshots in ME2.  However, I have yet to find out how to take screencaps.  I've tried all the "F" keys, except F5 and F9 (quicksave and quickload, respectively), print screen, etc, but every time I look, the screenshot folder is empty.  Do I have to edit the .ini file to enable a screenshot key?  If so, what value do I need to add, and where do I need to add it?

Thanks in advance for any answers anyone might have.

I'm interested in this as well. Kind of a bummer if you can't take your own screen captures.

I posted the same type of thread yesterday. It doesn't have the same BIOInput.ini in the config folder as ME1 did. That's the ME1 file that held the binds and that's where I had put my screenshot bind for ME1.

Yeah, I figured out that there's no BIOInput.ini like there was in ME1. I finally gave up and downloaded the free version of Fraps. That lets you take screenies. It's laughable that there's no built-in screenshot capture ability when there's clearly screenshot folders. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

seems in some of the configs that it should be uploaded in the same style that they have done it in dragon age. But I can't seem to find any reference to any buttons :P so:

Bump for great Interest!

is this something that could be fixed with a patch?

because I'd love to take my own screencaps, it's the easiest way to get reference material for drawings :D

I did a web search the other day; turns out there is a modification to the config.ini or something like that in the program files folder to add PF8 as the "shot" key. I'm not at the same PC as my game PC or I'd give better details. It works - modded the ini file myself and can take screenshots of everything but the movies. They don't show up in the user profile screenshots folder but the Biogame/screenshots folder within the user profile.

Might need to invest in Fraps to get the movies.

I'm having the same problem... I don't suppose anyone knows how to fix this screenshot issue?

I would love some screenshots and not having to replay the whole game again to get them. :)

You could always use Fraps to capture a shot and Gimp to convert the format from .bmp to .jpg

No need to use GIMP for that. FRAPS can save screenshots as BMP, JPG, PNG and TGA.

Fraps can only save as a BMP if you're using a trial version.
