Ok so I just finished my second playthrough: my first was a soldier, and my second was an Adept. And damn, the Adept is extremely fun. I loved slinging around biotics, its just as fun as the ME1 biotics, and I thought ME2 Warp was more useful.
Anyway, I have been hearing a lot of hype about the Sentinel. That class was pretty useless in ME1, but I hear it is great in ME2. I still want to use biotics as my main "powers". I never used Shockwave when I was an Adept (I liked the other biotics more) so I won't miss that. I used Warp and Throw most often, so that is a big plus. I will miss pull aka LIFT and Singularity, but I really only used Singularity near the end for the husks, and I'm sure the tech armor boosts my defense so its a fair trade-off.
However, I'm still not sold on the Sentinel class. For those of you who have played both Adepts and Sentinels in ME2, would you be so kind as to tell me your opinions on the two, which class you liked better, and possibly give me more info? Thanks!
Adept or Sentinel?

With my Adept I used Lift, Singularity and Warp the most often. I would definately miss Lift and Singularity on a Sentinel.

I have both level 30 as well as engineer. Id say if you dont use singularity very often, Sentinel will play much the same except with a massive shield boost contantly up lol. I beat hardcore difficulty on Sentinel with no difficulty at all. Contemplating trying sentinel on Insanity. They really are super powerful jacks of all trades.
Go Sentinel with warp ammo, and you'll be invincible!

I changed my ME1 Adept to an ME2 Sentinel because Tech armor and Overload are very useful abilities in combat, and I was still allowed Warp and Throw which were some of the more useful biotics. I only miss Shockwave (had it with my vanguard) when I'm facing husks.

The correct answer is Vanguard for the lulz of getting the red screen of death burned into your retinas but feeling like your accomplishing something anyway.

I LOVE the sentinel. If you play the Adept and felt like you had too much trouble stripping enemies of their shields, Sentinel is for you. Overload + Warp is a very powerful combo. He also gets Cryo Blast, which isn't too shabby either.
But the main course is of course Tech Armor, which you can keep have on ALL THE TIME and will save your life so many times you can't even count.
The sentinel is very versatile and combines well with almost every squad member. His greatest strength lies in full-frontal, close assault. So playing him will be a completely different experience from the adept.

Warp/Overload will be your staple powers. You have a little CC with throw and cryo, though their use is highly situational.
The feel of sentinnel versus adept will be more "focused" and less "area effect"
