Ah yes, nothing if not predictable. :D  Add a fourth point about sheep and you're there!

What about Flight of the Conchords?  I demand they have a place!

Yeah, but we don't count the natives. We sorta caused the vast majority of them to die off, so it's not very much of a "good thing".

...I suppose it's good that any of them still live, really. Posted Image

Well, looks like you're shouldering enough guilt there for the both of us, so uh... I'll leave you with it. :P

Look, I'm from a predominantly Maori/Pacific Island area.  Many of my family are mixed.  Maori people and culture are a normal, everyday thing for me, just as they were for my parents, and pretty much all New Zealanders.  Your response to the mention of Maori people is a little confusing to me; I get the impression you're being a little too free with the cookie-cutter model of 'evil Anglos vs natives!' and all it's accompanying stereotypes and it's not always so simple.  Nor is it necessarily fair.  But... at any rate, this is an enormous can of worms and I'll leave it at that.  You can message me if you want to pick my brains about it. :)

So uhm... back on topic!  Have some more toffee pops! :wizard:

Biscuits and... gravy?  I mean, certainly, putting gravy on things ultimately makes them better but... I dunno.  Biscuits?

Ha! My cousin had an Australian friend come visit her a while ago, and we all went out for breakfast together. He ordered the biscuits and gravy, simply because he was having trouble wrapping his mind around the concept and had to experience it.

I think they kind of blew his mind.

Chips and gravy, now that's a killer combination. Near the store I used to work at, there was a food van on the retail park and I went once. Best chips and gravy I've ever had, they were amazing, even if I was completely and utterly baffled by how you ordered food (there wasn't a queue! I was honestly confused).

I eat too many sweets (or, as the rest of the world would say, "too much candy"). My favourite has to be fruit gums, though. Love 'em.

Just for the sake of clarification: a part of my family comes from New Zeland too, but they´re geneticaly European only. That being said; the were not, culturaly alien to Maori people and in fact, they have told me lots of things about them.

I personaly consider Maori culture as very interesting and the couple actual Maori I have met as amazing people. Plus they have the myths of Maui that can only be labeled as beautiful examples of poetry and storytelling.

You know, when I was little I used to take the stories about Maui so seriously.  I'm told that I went to my mother one day when I was about five, asking  'Do we really live on a big fish Mum?'  'Pardon?'  'The fish Maui pulled up.'  'Uhm... well... it's...' 'Maybe he pulled up a whale?'  'Uh, yes... it's not really -'  'What if the fish swims away?  Where will we go?'  'Well, it's not really alive... ' 'Ew, a dead fish, Mum?!'  She still laughs about that.  Apparently I was very concerned about the whole thing. I did like the stories though.

Two things:

1) Most of the native deaths that came from colonization efforts came from disease. We Europeans were a veritable candy shop of different ways to die! As one of the whitest men to ever walk this earth, believe me when I say I'm not some anti-Anglo native-sympathizer...

...I'm whoever pays me the most money. Posted Image

*Maniacal laughter* Posted Image

2) This may be the most disgusting thing EVER! I present to you: the Bacon Explosion!
