So I've totally been neglecting Loghain. We can't have that.
Excellent piece of art!

I believe this is a thread for Maeve's stuff and not a general Loghain thread

Anyway, if anyone likes Loghain here then check this poll, and do NOT vote for him.

Well, feel free to post other Loghain love here, besides mine. I'm okay with it. But I suppose I did intend this to be a thread for "my" love of Loghain. I guess I can't keep him all for myself though, so do as you please.
Not while I am here you can't

Yet, rather than just be a MAN and realize that life is cruel and unfair, he acted like a spited little child. Causing the deaths of thousands, a civil war, and almost the destruction of the country he supposedly cared so much for.
Sympathy? Never. Even by today's standards of honor and duty, this guy's perception of these virtues is about as right a hooker with braces.
Understanding? Absolutely. I despise Loghain but...I can see why he took the steps he did. However, had he just set aside his own grief and anger for but a minute and followed Cailan, DAO would be all of an hour worth of a game. Ostagar would've been our 'climatic battle'.
Probably going to get flamed for posting this is a Loghain fangirl thread *readies shield*, but alas, I really I enjoyed reading about him and figured a reply was worth it. Again, excellent writing and thank you for allowing me the chance to see into the mind of one of the truly greatest/tragic villains of any series.

Y'know, I figured Loghain had a reason other than power...the character never came across as a greedy, selfish sort. Like Howe.

Well, since this thread is about my love of Loghain, it's probably a bit out of place. But again, i'm no mod, so do what you like.
On a happier note, my madness knows no bounds. Meet Loghain Mac Tir, the second I guess.

Oddly enough, it was replaced with an urge to seek out my cat and berate him for not being as cool.

I'm delighted to know that I am not the only Loghain-liking person on these boards. Thank you people for making me realize that I am not the only one who likes Loghain!
On a related note, pictures are awesome. I won't read the fanfic (Not into them, honestly), but I do hope you the best of luck with it, and Loghain Mac Tir II made me spit the coke everywhere. Thank you!

You are definitly not alone
Not a lot of happy-feelings threads for Loghain, though. Which is understandable. But a shame.

Nah, jk. I think Loghain is awesome, but then again I think every character that produces any sort of strong feelings from me is awesome. Hell, I even like Howe. Well, not like like, but I find him a well written character and thus I... like... *shudders* Howe... I think after playing Oblivion I think any character with some manner of personality is awesome... Anyhow, Loghain, YES! LoveLoveLove. Haven't read the books, but still love. And love your work, you are such a fantastic writer! *Maeves_childfangirlsquee* (Uh, strictly in a heterosexual manner ofc)

Just read your fanfic and I love it! I have come to love Loghain as well. It really changed with the Stolen throne although I read The Calling first. By the end of TST I knew I could never kill Loghain for vengeance like Alistair wanted. I did feel a little sick that I could now understand Ser Cauthrien's feelings for him though
Woo, another convert
Did we hijack your thread Maeves_child? Sorries. There just aren't any other smexy Loghain threads out there, that I know of.

True that. I read TST and after that I was all Loghain forever! Plus, I do naked landsmeet everytime so it makes showing Alistair the door all the better. And as far as Cauthrien goes, OTP, I swear. Cauthrien + Loghain forevah! That wrist grab at Ostagar MEANT something.

And thanks to everyone for the compliments. I really enjoyed writing my fic. There is an Awakening sequel, if anyone is interested and I have just gotten to the beginning of the Loghain bits.
Pretty and Pragmatic
