This. It is possible for him to die, so it's stupid to think that Bioware would spare the resources to bring back someone who would potentially not be there.

Truthfully the game doesn't save if you kill off Shepard, more of an easter egg really.  They shouldn't have built that up.  I would be quite suprised if you played as someone different.

This. These Shepard support threads are so stupid. I really hope Bioware doesn't listen to them and screw up the story just to pander to the Shepard fans.

I mean, why write it in if they're just gonna keep him alive in ME2 anyway?

BioWare really dropped the ball with Shepard in Mass Effect 2 playthrough 2. The first time I played, Shepard was an upright guy who got results without compromising his morality... the second time, he was really out of character. He even threatened to rip a guys balls off and sell them to a krogan! I mean, what the hell? If they bring him back for ME3, I hope they do his character justice this time. :'(

I agree with the guy who posted earlier:  not only should Shepard be back in ME3, but I demand that we get the long-awaited romance with Shepard.

In the end, there's no better LI than Shepard.  He understands your character better than anybody, he has all the same wants and desires.  Some people say opposites attract, but I say NAY!  The more you have in common with somebody, the better it is, so Shepard is the one, true LI.

Come on, BioWare!  Shepard as LI in ME3!  Give Shepard a hand!

ok ..so i noticed that shepard can stay alive in mass effect 3...can someone tell me step by step to properly keep him alive in the game?..and then how do you get the synthetic ending?..and of corse the ending where shepard is alive...
