Just take a look at the forums right now, there are at least 3-4 multiple page threads filled to the brim with sex starved nerdragers who are totally exploding on Bioware for not have full frontal nudity in ME2. They are going on and on about how ME2 is a scam, how they have been duped and how everyone at Bioware should be fired because in the "sex scene" players didn't get to see a full on, gratuitous, multi-positional (with zoom), X rated porn scene of Shepard drilling someone into his cabin floor.

See, this is a great example of the real problem in this thread.  So far, I haven't seen anyone suggest that game porn was a good idea, people just seem to generally with that the intimacy was a little more expressed, a little less implied.  The tasteful and pretty unobjectionable scenes from ME1 are offered consistently as a sort of Gold Standard.  There is also near consensus that if a scene is included, it should be done without making it silly, as was unfortunately the case in Dragon Age.

Somehow, this is all too often interpreted as a demand for game porn by people who are either too lazy or thick headed to read and understand the comments that preceed them.  That's a real shame, and that lack of willingness or ability to engage in civil discourse on the topic makes it difficult to reach consensus.

The problem? Those dweebs all believe that they are 100% right in causing this ruckus. They feel that they have the right to demand this be done. Whats worse, is that if you go and tell them that they are being silly and unreasonable, you only end up adding more fuel to their sick fire.

So in the end. It really is a lose-lose.

Yeah, but those are the 14 year old boys.  At least, I'd hope so.  As for me, a 28 year old woman, I think the current scenes are done tastefully.

I'm with you there. I'm 25 myself and I can't see the outrage over this. Whatever.

Why not? the video game is basicly a Simulator, just as the Holodeck from the star trek saga, and in there you can spend your time practice shooting, speeches. fighting. simulations, and even sexual pleasure. As i´ve known the mare 4 years i have been playing Biowares awsome games i´ve come to see the truth that they are giving us a taste of what life is in real life for some people. And i see for instance no problem with the option to be the gentle man "Like sheppard", or a sexcreazy man "Also like Sheppard" :D, This gives you an absolute idea that beeing an gentleman infront of the ladies will give you a happy ending, while going for the sex will only end in chaos for both the partners, i say, Add it as an option, not an forced option.

You will never get what you ask for UNLESS the PC version comes with a mod kit.

Money and biowares producers dictate this above ALL else, more than that SCARY FAUX NEWZ and those knuckle dragging conservatives or you extreme feminist Liberals who don't voice their opinion on air because no really gives a darn about MSNBC.

You will if the developers are European, a land where people don't have anxiety attacks over such stupid matters.

So I keep hearing, can you point me to some solid 8/10  RPGs or Shooters developed by European game companies marketed to North America? Besides the Witcher.

You knowledge of european games is lacking i see ok here comes a short list just out of my head theres plenty of european gaming companies:

Rainbow Six series (specially las Vegas e Las Vegas 2)
Ghost Recon series
Splinter Cell series
Assassin Creed Series
Battlefield Series (DICE is european)
Guild wars 1 e 2
Conan online
Tomb raider series
Alien Vs Predator series
Shadow of Chernobyl Series
Alone in the Dark series

Should i continue?

I forgot to add that have a "liberal" dose of sexuality. In any case ME2 has enouch problems on it's own with out worrying about nudity or sexual themes.

Sex is included in literature and movies since decades, so it can`t be such a huge problem.

True, however unfortunately, irrelevant.

As long as the $50 or so from the perved dweebs = your $50 or so, they will feel that they have the god given right to explode on the forums like they are. That being said, you will be surprised how many of these people that you are writing off as 14 year olds, are actually within the legal age to buy this game.

Please re-read my post, understand its meaning and return when you feel that you have brought the [+] to the same level as the (*).
By the way, that wooshing sound you are hearing is perfectly normal for what just happened to you.

It's a culture/idealogy thing, someones always going to be butt hurt and voice their opinion.(to which they're entitled)

Bioware is simply taking the "safe" road. You could point and shout Fox news all day long but the truth of the matter is the final decision rests with Bioware.

It's funny your should mention the disclaimer on MW. You do much less redeeming things in Bioware games with no disclaimer.

Actually, I'm not surprised at all.  And I spent a total of $96 CAD for this game, not 50.  I'm also not disputing that they have a "right" to vocalize their sexual frustrations on the forum.  I'm just saying that the "I want my mass market video game to be porn" opinions are completely irrelevant.  They're never going to be satisfied.  If the game was to have graphic porn in it, they wouldn't be able to buy it.  You'd have to be 18 (or whatever the legal age to buy porn is in their country,)

after playing the airport in MW2, i thought about FOX's coverage of sex in mass effect. i compared the 2 'socially inappropriate' situations and guaged the level of 'inappropriate' one should take from them, and then i did this:

this is me misunderstanding:

your trying to compare shooting people in a shooting game.

to having sex with people in a shooting game.

im not saying your wrong if watching aliens is the line you must cross to be fully immersed in the

game then by all means. but i don't see sex scenes necessary in video games

It was disappointing how downplayed the romance scene was compared to the cinematography of the scenes in the scenes of the first game.

Video Games are a media, like literature and movies. Who would say "I don`t see how XY scenes are necessary in movies/literature?". No one would, because that is silly. A media can and should include everything in their products, things for kids, things for adults, things for the whole family ect. pp. If we say "I don`t see sex scenes necessary in video games" we would say "video games are from a lower value than other media".

@sos986
"nerds fighting"... why insult peoples because they just want to have equality? The video game industry is still behind other big media industries, because they are scared to show the same things. A breast in a movie? No issue. A breast in a video game? That is still a revolution in some way.
