Keep Sex out of our Video Games!

On the contrary, we love violence because most of us are good at it.
Personally it would bother me a lot more to have my kids playing a game showing over the top gore (a la DA:O) than a game that showed graphically explicit sex scenes. Hell, if it were done in an appropriate moral context it could even serve as sex education.

as far as your media arguement if videogame are held with the same level of respect as other forms than id say respect the developers enough to let them create what they did,

It was disappointing how downplayed the romance scene was compared to the cinematography of the scenes in the scenes of the first game.
I was slightly disappointed myself, but not because of the lack of graphic visuals. I spent a lot of time in advancing a certain romance thread. I didn't want a full on sex scene, but I could have done with at least a longer cutscene that included at least more talking. I just felt a 30 second cut scene didn't do justice to the amount of time I took the damned elevator to the crew quarters level.

By the way, that wooshing sound you are hearing is perfectly normal for what just happened to you.
On your best day, you are perhaps a third as clever as you seem to believe that you are. If you would set aside your laughable condescension for a moment, you might realize that you are just being ridiculous. Or, I suppose you could continue to congratulate yourself for misdirected tirades against arguments and opinions that you have misconstrued in the first place... that is, I expect, much more likely.
I appreciate your suggestion that a post from you was in any way 'over my head.' It was most amusing.

The developers are afraid to go further, so the only way to change something is, if the consumers themself open their mouth and push them to do something. It`s not like the supporters threaten the developers or stalk them. They just write their oppinions. That is very respectful.

My disapointment was that it wasn't as romantic as the scenes of ME1. I mean the beautiful lighting they used of Liara climing on shepard lol. It was romantic. Of course I would have prefer that be Kaiden and my Shepard, but thats another issue altogether.
With me2 the only romance that felt RIGHT was with Tali and I don't blame the devs for holding off on showing her face and the rest of Quarian anatomy to the public. it can wait. But with Jack or Miranda it feels like no more than getting jumped. Its more "here's Miranda in a bra, look at that - move along now" didn't feel romantic at all.
Perhaps a more adequate word is "sensuous" but I think the former still applies.

I play a female Shephard so none of those options are there for me. I went for Thane in ME2 and I thought the progression of it was very romantic. I just wanted more to come from it. (Yes, yes, there's a pun in there. Don't get too excited, boys) I think the Thane romance thread was very well done, I just felt a little undwerwhelmed in the culmination of it. If this had been a book, and not a video game, I would feel the same.

This.
In the ME1 the scenes were tasteful and were NOT pron in any way.

Even if there was nudity in Bioware's games, anyone who gets offended is either immature or not old enough to be playing the game anyways. Sex is nature, it's part of life. People just make it out to be a lot more than it is.

The difference between violence and sex though is that you wouldn't do the former because it's wrong and the latter you can do whenever you want granted it's consensual and whatever the law is regarding age where you live. Therefore all that crazy stuff you can't do in real life you can enjoy in a game b/c you know it's a game. I suppose under that point ppl that do want sex in games can argue, "well I can't screw aliens in real life, so..." TBH I don't care either way as long as it's optional and they're short/tasteful.
Tasteful is right. Glad you put that out there. We don't want some "asari hanar porn games" lmao (Salarian game seller on the Citadel reference)

Imo, it is a lose-lose situation for a developer.
If you do have sex scenes, people will b!tch and moan, TV stations will write scandalous articles about how your game is the work of the devil. People will scream and shout blasphemy on your forums.
If you don't have sex scenes, people will b!tch and moan. Blog sites and online reviews will write scandelous articles about how your game is pathetic. People will scream and shout heresy on your forums.
The sad part is that everyone on both sides of the argument believe they are totally, 100% correct and the other is 100% wrong. However, neither of the two sides attack each other's principles. Instead, they attack (without prejudice) the development house making the game.
All this really does is shine a massive light on the general level of absurdity of the topic.
I think they call that free advertising

you guys want to fill out a survey before you play a game, i understand maybe it should come with a credit check to age verify your old enough to see violent/sexual content. for me, it takes me out of the game to think that every girl/guy/asexual being on the ship wants to jump my bones, its like none of these characters stand for anything they just sit around and wait for you to come along and get them naked, its disturbing
as far as your media arguement if videogame are held with the same level of respect as other forms than id say respect the developers enough to let them create what they did,
The problem is they got bullied in to censoring the sex scenes. Its just one aspect of the game, not a huge one, but if you're going to do it...do it right. If you guys don't see how ridiculous censoring sex is but not violence, then I don't get it. Blowing up and killing people is fine, as well as stealing cars and assaulting people, but "sexual content?"...MUST CENSOR!
Go look at the Australian version of LFD2. Its a Zombie killing game that edits out much of the blood and gore that the developers intended. It looks downright silly. Same thing in this game. Jack swears at you and is all sexual, but when it comes time to actually do it....CENSOR!
I thought ME1 was censored enough...no need to censor even more. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous it all is. I know the developers didn't intend for it to be that way, but the fact is...you're still having sex and experiencing adult content, they just don't "show it"...now whats the point in that? Are you trying to maximize sales? I would bet that having the tasteful "love scene" wouldn't have hurt sales 1 bit. Bioware, if you are going to open dialogue options up so that I can have a loving relationship with a crew mate, then please don't water it down. Either do it right, or take it out all together.

As much as they labeled those "romance", but it's hardly romance considering all what you have to do is just talk to someone with some flirtatious words and then they mutually agree or imply they will have sex together. Rather than actual romance as in real life, the "romance" presented in Bioware games are more like horny teen meets ****s, which lacks of true emotion involvement.
As for that kinda "romance" or "sex", they are just doing it for the sake of it and for the trend, which I genuinely despise. The self-censoring EA and Bioware are great examples for that.
