I haven't got there yet but I thought it (the sex scene) was incredibly well done in ME1 and I am fully expecting to be disappointed in ME2... like many other aspects of this sequel.

Of course you're going to be disappointed if you go in with that attitude!

The game should be about setting and character development.
You want sex-go get a video on the internet if you are in the legal age. I don't play games for sex.
There is too much sex and romance in ME2 to me already.

Even if there was nudity in Bioware's games, anyone who gets offended is either immature or not old enough to be playing the game anyways. Sex is nature, it's part of life. People just make it out to be a lot more than it is.

I just think sexuality in America is silly. We
can shoot thousands of people in the head, beat up prostitutes, engage
in generally immoral and socially deviant behavior, but when it comes to
sex, OMFG! Censor! Censor! And in Mass Effect's case, its really more
about taking your relationship to the next level then merely just haveing "casual sex". I like
what modern warfare did with its disclaimer at the beginning of the
game. Maybe consider having something like that in the next mass effect. I think a little sex is harmless compared to...say...
having a shooting spree in an airport full of civillians. Thats just my
opinion though, what do you think?

I'd rather shoot fake things with digitaly metal slugs and pellets instead of shooting digital genetic material into some fake woman I'd never get my real life hands on.  Locals and purposes are irrelevant when in the ruining glory of the Chaos Gods Nurgle and Khorne... *ahem* I didn't say anything... Skulls for the skull throne...

That and I think my girlfriend would cut my balls off if I chosed fake digital sex over her embrace...

Well we europeans are certainly more open to sex in general, but it is also a matter of taste. I wouldn't have a problem with sex being displayed in video games, and I don't know any who would. However, I much prefer Bioware's approach compared to full graphic sex - I personally don't play games to watch digital porn, and I don't really think it fits that well in a game such as Mass Effect.

Sex is something you may (or may not) get plenty of in the real world, where as gunning down people probably isn't an activity that you'd engage in. Games are, afterall, generally about escaping real life by having fun, and I'm guessing most people would just prefer to blow up stuff virtually instead of engaging in virtual sex that offers little to no pleasure as compared to the real thing.

This is just my opinion, of course. I really like what Bioware has done with the romances in ME and ME2.

No worries when it comes to sex and videogames etc... because soon our generation will be the adults who were raised on, and still play games.

Not if the kids from the movie Jesuscamp have anything to say about it. :P

It's nice to know that people in Moldavia have the same views as people in Netherlands about sexual behaviour LOL:lol:

This could easily be fix if the sex part they would go to the bed and get under the covers and have sex then snuggle easily fixed and done no nudity but it would please both sides because it have realism.

The issue is, that even though you think this is all it would take, there will be a legion of sicko-dweebs for whom this would still not be enough.

Just take a look at the forums right now, there are at least 3-4 multiple page threads filled to the brim with sex starved nerdragers who are totally exploding on Bioware for not have full frontal nudity in ME2. They are going on and on about how ME2 is a scam, how they have been duped and how everyone at Bioware should be fired because in the "sex scene" players didn't get to see a full on, gratuitous, multi-positional (with zoom), X rated porn scene of Shepard drilling someone into his cabin floor.

The problem? Those dweebs all believe that they are 100% right in causing this ruckus. They feel that they have the right to demand this be done. Whats worse, is that if you go and tell them that they are being silly and unreasonable, you only end up adding more fuel to their sick fire.

So in the end. It really is a lose-lose.

On the other hand, it mught make a welcome break for her...

Sex in games is like sex in movies.  It's a part of the story telling.  If a scene portray an intimate encounter moves the stoiry forward, it has a place.

A break maybe, but no.  She's pretty damn far away, as in totally different states, due to the job market currently and I'm ... well I'm not very "active" for a male in the lovin business.  I am, however, more prone to a "Hagard" of Battlefield Bad Company mentality for entertainment and relaxation in real life.   I don't like monster trucks, but for everything else Hagard sums me up.

Yes, sex is a key plot point for story telling but I just don't care about who bent over who most of the time.  Romance/sexual plot themes will bore me to sleep (guilty of pushing x button to skip romance segments).  I don't know I guess it's from the live and let die mentality my family had to survive in for generations.  That and only the real stuff only gets my interests at all.

If you do have sex scenes, people will b!tch and moan, TV stations will write scandalous articles about how your game is the work of the devil. People will scream and shout blasphemy on your forums.

In other words, you should definitely include sex for the extra publicity you'll get.

Yeah I was thinking about this last night, haha. With Mass Effect 2 there are now blood spurts and shattering armor/bone when you shoot guys in the head, there are people being liquified and burned alive before your very eyes, everyone's saying **** this and **** that and yet the nudity was toned down to just seeing a bra-clad female upper body. Then again the "conservative" sociopaths in America greatly prefer ultraviolence and slaughter over the acknowledgement of secondary sex characteristics, so it's not much of a surprise.

Yeah, living on it, I am just annoyed with all that "Europeans are open about x" "Europeans support y" and so on.

Yeah, but those are the 14 year old boys.  At least, I'd hope so.  As for me, a 28 year old woman, I think the current scenes are done tastefully.

Yes because older women are immune to nudity. Funny because I sat in on Sex and the City with a friend and when the nude man came on screen every woman over 25 in the theater had to pick their jaw up off the floor. Seriously, it was significantly more substantial than any reaction I had ever seen out of boys in their early teens when a nude woman is on screen.

Anyway, the guy you quoted was grossly exaggerating. No one is acting the way he described or asking for porn.

I'm sorry, but there are already a couple of threads discussion sex and nudity in Mass Effect 2. THank you.

End of line.
