Shepherd is not gay. Get the **** over it.

Already recorded just not put in the game. Only thing that was missing was the sex scene animation rig.

Regardless I said I wasn't going to get into this arguement. So yeah. I'm done.

Its your right to play your Shep as heterosexual as you choose.

I still hope BioWare decides to place a single male gay option in ME3.

And I hope they don't. For the love of God...all you gay guys just preying on the "Oooh, I'm gay and therefore my opinion is more valid as I have been persecuted for my sexulity" arguement just starting to make me sick.

Why does there HAVE to be a gay option? No offense but from a genetic point of view being gay is a coding error. Chemical synapse error. We'd have a merry old time if everyone was gay...say goodbye to the species.

*headdesk* First I'm female. Second you do realize their have been gay people since the beginning of humanity right? =] Its not going away because some 2000 (if its even that old) religion says so.

DNA has been around since the beginning of humanity too...like I said, being gay is hardwired into your genes, and you are the minority. Wasting time and resources to implement (and yes, i watched your little video, one voice segment) it effectively and coherantly across all three games would be a total waste.

Whats also irritating is people feel obligated to side with the "safe" option of coming here and saying that people should have a choice but that's because the world is full of bleeding heart liberals. I'm by no means a homophobe but I don't want it rammed down my throat either. I don't want male members of my crew coming onto me when I'm trying to just get to know my brothers in arms.

Lol, I laughed my ass off when I read this. I didn't even realise the pun until you pointed it out. I was too involved in the debate.

This is so true.  Because my position isn't aligned with the majority of whiners, I'm the wrong one for noticing a narrative device.

*sighs* There was three vids that covered the romance first off all. Second of all the VOs did the same thing for the second game. <_< Third of all we're asking for the option where you have to actively persue them and otherwise would just get friendship dialogue. Think Sky from Jade Empire. The only way to get his romance to trigger was to reject all the straight options and then actively engage him by hitting on him first with an obvious come on.

(Frankly they should do that with the hetero mances too its annoying to have to reload when your gay Shep starts hitting on someone when you thought you were just being nice).

Is that okay?

Male Shepard can have a relationship with a total of 7 females between Mass Effect 1 and 2. This includes the 2 Asari which is debatably a straight hook-up (more or less). He isn't give the option to flirt with any men through either game. Not given the option to even suggest he's interested in the dozens of men he meets.

Even if he were to be rejected, if Male-Shep were even slightly gay, he would have "attempted" to hook up with another dude. He isn't given the option. This isn't just a missing game mechanic - it's put in place on purpose because Male-Shepard is not gay.

Is there anybody here who is naive enough to think Bioware lacked the know-how to inpliment a gay romance? They've done it before. The only reason NOT to include this option is because (and for the last time) Male-Shepard is not gay.

People have already linked the same-sex voice options that were considered for inclusion in the game.  The only reason bioware DIDN'T include same-sex romance in their games is because of the RAMPANT homophobia accross the globe.  Here in the U.S. it's just the "christian right" bozos we have to worry about... but remember there are still countries where homosexuality is so taboo that it is a capital offense.

If you recall, ME 1 was not banned because of SEX but because of LESBIAN SEX.

People love to throw around that "homophobic" term. You're the one that needed to reinforce their heterosexuality by talking about your "hot" wife. Hipocracy is bitter, isn't it?

If Bioware didn't include the gay romance options that they created... then that just proves my point once and for all. Honestly, that's pretty much a /thread right there.

Damn.  Orogenic just got destroyed AGAIN.  How much punishment can he and his super model wife take?  Are they Krogan?

Actually, I was pointing this out to demonstrate that I have more right to speak for heterosexuals than you do, because I'm pretty sure you have never HAD a girlfriend.

Actually by your logic, this might make YOU borderline homosexual come to think of it..

When you claim to be the victor while everyone can clearly see you are getting spanked it only makes you look silly : )

At no time do I want a male member of my crew to make a pass at me. Full stop. We're brothers in arms, not a bunch of gay's tooling around space camping it up. Yes, I know I'm stereotyping, but stereotypes exist for a reason.
It would go as far as to kill the experience for me. I mean you say "actively pursue", but how far? I mean if I'm asking a comrade about his history, his experiences, I don't want him to just start flirting with me.

Sounds like a closeted middle schooler diss to me.

And.

Watch this now, you're about to be owned...

Haven't seen it, personally.  I think it would annoy me.  Too much unnecessary angst.  But I wasn't making qualitative evaluations of any of these films, just giving more examples of major actors who have played as gay characters and usually benefited their careers.

Hate to butt in here, but what it means is that they're willing to include in ME2 what they didn't in ME1.  It also means that they didn't think same-sex romances were 'wrong' for the story, even after the first game was released.

Also: people would goad you less about girlfriends if you cut the vitriol.  Just a hint. ;D

Again, this thread is ridiculous beyond belief.

ME1 = no homosexual relationships with Male Shepard
