So you would kill a gay man because he might flirt with you?

Intolerance much?

It would not break the lore or the setting to have a gay male Shepard in Mass Effect 3. Since FemShepard can flirt and have a romance with Kelly in Mass Effect 2 (a gay option), then there is no reason why it couldn't be done in Mass Effect 3 for both genders.

Really?  NO reason at all?

yup a renegade option to hit the airlock button would make that alone worth buying the game.

Ok, you can S. TF.U right there.

It's built into the LORE of the freaking ME Universe that asari are phenotypically female. So just GTFO. Right now.

But Hudson said they weren't female remember?

Wow REAL mature. :D

When some gay campaigner comes along and starts asking to change the LORE, yeah, I get agitated. In none of the 2 games have you seen an "asari" male, that's because they dont freaking exist. They are monogendered genetically but pheotypically female. Learn what a phenotype is before you rebuke me please.

Keep your shirt on.  If there's one alien species that somehow miraculously manages to look quite like human females, there could easily be another alien species that somehow miraculously manages to look quite like human males.

We should stop. We're just padding the thread and making the issue look larger than it is truth be told. If they really feel that strongly about it they should be just left alone.

I know it seems ridculous to us but naybe if we can show BioWare that we're the more mature group and let them see how many people really feel this way they'd gauge the reaction to see if its worth the risk to place gay romances in the game?

You are correct actually... arguing with morons is a guilty pleasure, but I'll shut up in the interest of letting this thread die.

parting shot: enjoy your homophobic rage, thanks for the laughs.  My super hot wife sends her best.

Tell her to put in a good word for me with Tyra Banks.

I doubt they'd get along.. Tyra is a bit lacking in the intellectual development department.

Ok, so let me sum up what I think this argument is about.  There is the literal interpretation that the dialogue exactly reflects Shepherd's thoughts (the OP's opinion), and interpretation that Shepherd's actions are what are important to shaping the character (my opinion).

Here's why I have a problem with the "dialogue choices as Shepherd's thoughts angle":  If the dialogue choices (not just the romantic ones, but all of them) are his/her direct thoughts he/she would appear to have a mental disorder.  There are many times that the paragon vs. renegade dialogue choices are completely at odds.  The game does respond, to some extent, to your choices (blue vs. red dialogue options, for example), but often it's just two diametrically opposed options on the same dialogue wheel.  I guess you could argue that Shepherd has this internal dialogue going on in his/her head at all times, but it seems fairly extreme for a person without multiple personality disorder.

So that's why I choose to take the latter interpretation, i.e. Shep's actions are what are important.  I could see why, if you chose to equate Shep's thoughts to the dialogue wheel options, then you might take the opinion of the OP.  I happen to think that there's a problem with interpreting the dialogue wheel literally, but you're entitled to your own interpretation.

I respectfully disagree.  I think it's his thoughts represented.  How else can you have the option to kill or save the rachni queen?  Are you supposing that he instantly chooses one over the other?  He doesn't think, hmm, killing her would eliminate possible future rachni invasion, but saving them might help against the reapers?

How about the end of ME1, he doesn't think about what to do?  Just does it instantly?

I actually pity the OP if he's going through the game with no imagination, or can't understand why other people would do so.

No reason at all, nope. Plus there are voice files in the Mass Effect folder, as shown by one of the posters, that reflect the fact that it might have been intended at some point to make MaleShepard gay a possibility. Fortunately there are modders out there who can get this fixed.

The existence of the Asari is an offense against evolutionary biology.  Not only are they tetrapods, which could conceivably be acceptable, but they are mammals.  If they have DNA I'll be even more offended.  Unless the devs do some creative footwork with panspermia, but IMO that's a cop-out.

You presume to think that Asari genetics and DNA (and it's stated that they have DNA) are the same as homosapiens? I think thats a gross error.
There was life before DNA, on planet Earth. Rudimentary sure, but who's to say what evolutionary course the Asari progressed down?

Ryuuuchi, I have no problem with the impementation of an "all-male" race. I just don't think the mass appeal is there. Females are pretty.

That's really a poor excuse to justify a horrible act.

"Hey, people are killing other people. Let's do the same!"

No one in their right mind, even if they get angry, is going to kill another person. This is the rule, with some exceptions.

Or you would see it acceptable that I say:

"I know they could do other things, but i would honestly rather not
think about it. Instead, like I said above, eject said black / Heterosexual / White / Blonde / Brunette / Female / Male squad mate out
the airlock."

It was REMOVED.

Please contemplate why and comeback when you arrive at the logical conclusion.
