That wasn't my point. My point is that you should not equate what it says on the dialogue wheel with who Shepard is, where he comes from or what his sexual orientation is.

Hell, you can change Shepard's first name, but nobody gives a flying **** about your first name. No one ever mentions it, it's not in the codex, nothing.

Does this mean that Shepard has no first name?

The reason why there's no m/m romance option in ME is because the male writers were uncomfortable writing about it. The reason why there are f/f romances in ME is because the male writers loved writing about it.  The reason there are m/m romances in DA:O is because there were female writers who didn't have a problem writing m/m romance.

Interesting debate though.

Prions are not alive.  Nor do they reproduce.  Prion proteins are manufactured by cells.  Sometimes they get misfolded, producing what's usually called the scrapie form, named after the prion disease occurring in sheep.  These misfolded proteins are capable of interacting with normally folded prion protein and inducing it to misfold, producing more scrapie prions.  They are not living, they're just proteins that are able to refold other proteins to match their conformation. 

Certainly DNA is not necessary, but some sort of genetic material is.  I'm saying that an independently evolved life form will not evolve to use DNA.  The use of DNA by life forms on our planet is probably a frozen accident, produced by chance and maintained because it happened to work. 

What I mean to say is, Prion folding is still self propagation. Who is to say what other barely understood means are out there. Anyway, we're getting off topic. See my other post btw, I posted previous to this one.

If you look at planet composition in our solar system alone you find minerals and elements common to Earth. So why not similar organic elements as well?

Er, the reason the composition of other planets in our solar system is similar to that of earth is because the solar system condensed out of an initially homogenous cloud of material 4.5 billion years ago.  The reason the same elements show up throughout the universe is they have a common source, fusion in stars, which follows the same laws anywhere in the universe. 

Just examining our own planet, there is no group outside the hominids that has ever come up with a body plan resembling that of humans.  And there have been a dizzying variety of body plans originated.  It's possible something very like our species would arise somewhere given an infinite number of planets, but the odds that we would run into one of these are astronomically low.

While I support same sex options (m/m and f/f) in RPG games so people can play THEIR character, as tends to be the focus of RPG games along with the story, I dont think it should be an option in ME3.



As some have said before it breaks the continuity of the game, it goes against what has been established in Shepard's character and personality. There have been some hints of it in fem Shep, but none at all in male Shep, so that would be a big gap between the games.



So I say no to gay Shep in ME3. But there has been mention that Bioware might come back to the ME universe after the trilogy, and if they decide to include it then I would support it.

Imagine the US and Europe...seperated by a great distance, but you find basically the same stuff one place as you do the other. There is no difference in the odds of finding a lifeform similar to our own, or finding a life form that is entirely different.

What's to say the "homogenous cloud" (and by the way, I'm all for straight talk, if you need to feel as though you are an intellectual superior, go right ahead...but it IS boring) that formed our solar system is ANY different to the cloud that formed another solar system?

Right, like the heat sink clips don't break the continuity of the game universe...

It says in the codex that its more efficient to eject a hot clip than wait for a weapon to cool down. read Codex = no continuity error.
