Depends are you against gays getting married to each other period or gays getting married in churchs that don't hold that belief?
Read Leviticus...pretty much say's it all.
I can't wait for Christianity to go back into the minority where it bloody belongs. <_<
That will never happen, sorry B)

That's what the Romans thought about their religion. :D

Leviticus also says you can't eat seafood, wear mixed fabrics (such as polyester) or have sex with a woman while she's menstruating. I am tired of knowing more about the Bible than people that claim to follow it.

You've won the thread!

Now, we will await the responses filled with teenage angst.

This has to be a troll thread. It really does. I honestly couldn't see even a member of Westboro Baptist Church sitting here typing this.

Reminds me of Landover Baptist. Love that site, best satirical one out there. The same guys who said a life-sized doll of Jar Jar Binks was a "Satanic Masturbation Toy".

Brb, popcorn, this could get funny if it doesn't get locked.

Yes, I must be trolling.  My dissenting opinion is the sure sign of a troll.  Everyone must be in total agreement at all times.  Geeze, these homos supporters are fascist.

BS.  The heat sinks are a technological upgrade.  Shep turning ****** all of a sudden, which is a chemical change in the brain, HIGHLY UNLIKELY, despite your wishes.

There's no way that could happen, and you're gonna have to accept it.

Sorry, but in the context I wrote, that wouldn't be no more "all of a sudden" than the deal with the heat sinks. It was always there or always happening; we, as the audience, just didn't know about it until it was revealed.

And, as I also noted to you directly, the only thing that matters is whatever the game designers chose to do. If they want to put m/m options in ME3 because they think it'll make them more money or tell a better story, then they will, your view of "logic" to the contrary.

Did I say I was overly religious and that I'd read every passage? Doesn't matter how you dress it up, being gay is not right. It isn't the way it should be that's for sure. I'm not saying people who are gay shouldn't have a place in the world, but obviously it isn't the way things should be.

Sounds like people want to turn Mass Effect into a dating sim. Why on earth would you want Shepard to be gay? Relationships are not the mian focus of the trilogy.

They're not asking to get married by your deity.  Marriage is a civil arrangement.  The government is the institution that pronounces you married.  There is no excuse to keep two men or two women from entering into this type of contract.  If you want some type of religious ultra-special marriage, have your church come up with some thing just for church members.

I have a certain amount of pity for you as well, although it's getting overridden by disgust.

And also, who are you to tell me it's not wrong?

Someone who has some basic grasp of human rights.  I know, it's unusual.

Wait so you follow a religion and you don't even know what it says is right or wrong? What do you do go along with what your paster told you too because he read the bible therefore he must know all the important bits?

Lol. How is he NOT bashing?  He goes around calling anyone who's he thinks is not gay but yet a support and calls them an aplogist.  He doesn't mean that in a good way.  He's an obvious troll.  Who because of his beliefs doesn't want gays in the game othrwise why call us apolgist?  I've yet to call any of those against the gays a homophobe, but yet I'm called an apolgist.  Lol.

You guys are quick to say that people who don't agree with you are bashing.  It's like playing the race card.  It's a sad counter to logical people.  You need to step up your game kid.

My point is as valid as it was in the beginning, and I notice yal stopped arguing against it.

Do you now realize that you are wrong?

... what makes you think being straight means you have to oppose gay content? Whenever someone gets panicked about gay men  -- and it's always men -- being too visible, I wonder if maybe he's just in denial himself. Otherwise, why would he care?

Actually, the Governmental form of Fascism would be considered the "extreme far-fight", which is typically the "anti-civil rights" aspect.

Leviticus also says you can take citizens from other nations as slaves and hand them down to your kids when you die.

Maybe you should read every passage, if you're trying to use the Bible as a gauge for morality!

Yet again, the clips have an explanation...

And, as I noted earlier, one line of Shep saying in ME3, "You are the first guy I found attractive since before I started saving the galaxy" provides the same level of explanation as the one line in the codex about geth and heat sinks.

No it doesn't because first of all it would be extremely weird for Shepard to magically get interested in X new male character while having been surrounded by other good looking males in previous games and haven't even made a hint about it, but ok, even if that were to happen then it means he would only and only be able to romance such new X character and not any other male from previous games right?
Or are you expecting to go and say "hey, Jacob, remember when we were taking on the Collectors and all?Well, turns out I was interested in you then but for some strange reason I couldn't make any move on you while I was prompted repeteadly to flirt with Miranda/Jack/Talli/Kelly, but somehow now I magically got interested in guys"
It is FORCED and OUT of character, and makes no sense whatsoever, that is why I am not a supporter of gay male Shepard, i don't care I'm all good for people having more choice but a this point it makes zero sense

I think that those of us who are in opposition to the idea without resorting to homophobia aren't biting our thumbs at the lifestyle itself, but rather the premise of having it thrust upon us (PUN) in a game universe we enjoy.

It's being said that it doesn't affect us in any way, but it actually does. Myself, personally, forcing it would make me extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention the total lack of context or precedent for the sudden change in behavior. It's not the Navy that the Village people sang about, it's a co-ed ship.

You use the word forcing like you don't have a dialogue wheel in the game. It's possible for a straight Shepard to go through the game with no flirting. Why would this be any different to a gay Shepard?

Because Shepherd isn't gay...that's it...

Oh well, if "that's it..." I guess you must be right.

I'm guessing your religion you seem to base your views upon doesn't accept sex outside of marriage. I DEMAND any and ALL love interests get married before any sexual activity happens. And whoever you picked in ME1 as the love interest will be your only sexual encounter, else we enter the realms of adultery. The holy book says it's so.

It's funny how people will only enforce parts of their religion they agree with. Blindly disregarding the bits that are inconvinient for them.

You know - it just dawned on me that everyone here is fighting with one another, on a message forum...regarding a fictional game in a fictional universe.

I think everyone here has failed to grasp the basic point of life, including myself.

Sigh...not another one. Shall we hold nothing dear? You can blabber on about your civil contract blah blah all you want, but before there was organised government there was still marriage. Marriage is a pairing, of man and woman, not man and man.
I don't need your pity, save it for yourself. If you had even a mite of wit behind all that intelligence you'd realise that I'm not against gay marriage, I'm against Christian gay marriage.

You realized there was organized goverment BEFORE Christianity right? Please tell me you realize this? A monarchy is a goverment. Also Marriage came BEFORE Christianity as well. Why do people not realize Christianity is as old as people think it is. <_< Its 2000 years old. Marriage is a hell of a lot older than that.

You're right, the topic is why it's a bad idea to have a gay male Shepard.  If you disagree, please state why in a logical argument.
