Most people would happily accept the option of a new guy being gay. The current relationships of crew past and present are already too well established to be setting them up.

You should realise that alot of people arguing for the option would also decline should it be hinted at. The most important part here is the OPTION. It seems pointless going through great lengths to let people create Shepard just how they want him and just block out a massive part of character customisation, especially when the entire game is based on your relationship with team members.

you can't make a Japanese man, is that discrimination?

Explain all the Asian male Sheps love. B)

Asian =/= Japanese :crying:

Well you can tweak his face and make him Japanese then.

At least you get close :bandit:

He looks more Korean than anything lol

He doesn't take interest in men, he takes GREAT interest in woman, he's been compared by Captain James T. Kirk in various interviews with developers, what do you think about it?

Shepard MAY take an interest in women, but can choose not to. Conversation files in the game hint at the initial thought by developers of making Alenko bisexual.

You can still choose not to flirt with anyone and it's completely compatible with being gay.

Dude no, it was REMOVED for a reason.  They removed it to make Shepard hetero.  There's no plausible way he can choose to be ****** all of a sudden, stop deluding yourself.

I dont want to see gay options in me3, simply because im not comfortable with it. I dont mind gay people living their lives i just dont want it brought into my house and my fantasy world. Let them marry and have normal lives and rights like everyone, thats a given. I just dont want it forced on me.

I pretty sure its not going to happen though, might bring to much negative feedback to the game. But hey, go gays, i dont mean to offend you or anything i just dont want to get bad associations when having a good time :D

I don't understand the "would have hit on them already" argument. I never hit on any more than a tiny minority of the guys I was acquainted with. Probably 98% of them went un-hit-upon. Shepherd not hitting on anyone in a very small group of guys is not evidence that he's straight, it could just be evidence that he doesn't find any of them attractive enough.

He didn't even think about it, look at the dialogue wheel.  Christ can you not see this?

It is implausible, male Shepard is portrayed as a confident 29 years old male, if he was interested in men he would have at least hinted about it in ME2, he doesn't, yet he shows a tanglible interest in women and alien-looking women, logical conclusion is...?

I'll bite. In which conversation would he have hinted about not being straight? In which conversation is Shepard forced to express an interest in women whether the player wishes him to or not?

Yes, he can! Gay men don't go around flirting with every man that gets in their way. You can refuse every woman in Mass Effect for many reasons, among them the fact that male Shepard is gay.

Alenko being bisexual was most likely removed due to time constraints. Why else would they go through the trouble of having voiced the entire dialogue? That's a **** load of money and time they've taken to do that.

He didn't even think about it, look at the dialogue wheel.  Christ can you not see this?

The dialogue wheel is NOT representative of what Shepard is. There are many things that aren't in the dialogue wheel, including eating habits, health problems, colour preferences... the list goes on and on.

You are razionalizating your point of view, in your own terms that would be true, but the reality of the situation is that there are no M/M romances because it was decided so, you can't hit on males not because they are not available but because the developers made male commander Shepard straight, your argument can be used to somehow implement a semi-plausible gay romance in ME3, yet is is forced and immersion breaking having the character being established as liking female company even when surrounded by other males.

M8, the curernt characters are not gay, get over it. Generally if someone pursues a relationship and/or longs after a woman, they are straight. That's Garrus and Kaiden and Thane for sure...so stop trying to justify turning them gay, and be happy with a new gay character. You are the ****ing minority afterall, I would be more than surprised if Bioware implemented a gay romance, too much time and effort for the 500 gay people who post on these forums. And announcing a gay romance is hardly a big selling point, it'll more than likely have the opposite effect.

Dude, none of what you wrote is logical response to what I wrote. You wanted an honest debate, and I gave you one. You said the characters pined for a lost love, I said there's nothing that says they can't have other loves. You said if they pursue a relationship with a woman they can't pursue one with a man. I pointed out that we have no idea what life is like in the future of the ME universe.

Your response all of that is to call me a frakking minority and to "get over it." A stellar retort if I ever heard one. As far as undermining sales go, you haven't demonstrated in any manner that including gay content in a game now pitched towards the casual market does anything but improve the return.

The reason why people don't want to debate with you is because you don't know how to do it.

Then its fine if you don't have to pUrsue then is what you're saying?

No. Wow, how many times have I said it in this thread? PUrsue =/= presented with. Should I use a different word other than "presented"? Did I make the mistake of typing in Italian again without realizing it? Bellissima!

Do enjoy your creepily weird and misguided masturbatory aid of a mental fanfic though, because that's the only place where a gay male Shepard will ever exist. You heard it here first. Ciao!

So you claim to be mature and responsible but the fact that a male crewmember might hit on you and you might have to say "No thanks or keep it professional" offends you on some deep personal level?  Oh noes! They gays exist and they're in my game!!!!

I love the double standards too. So its perfectly okay for Liara and Kelly and Morinth to hit on a F!Shep but if a male character does the same to M!Shep OH NOES!

All people ask for is the OPTION.

Hell, throw in a Renegade response should the guy hint at it. I'm sure you homophobes would feel much better having the option to hit a party member for showing a bit of gay interest. If you don't want the Renegade points, let him down gently. Why would an option like that be so out of the question?

Shepard has shown great interest in lots of chicks, but no guys.  There's your evidence.

He hasn't had an inkling for any guy so far.  It seems that a lot of homos on here are attracted to Kaidan.  Seems to me that if BioWare wanted him to be ****** or bi, they would have.  The finished product came out as it is now, with Kaidan being straight, and Shepard being a space pimp.

Lol, strangely, I'd go for that. I once nutted a gay guy for trying to hug me so...that's in line with my actual character.

This post deserves some sort of intellectual honesty award. I'm not quite clear about why someone would be bothered by a dialog option that he'll never have to pick, but there's no accounting for taste,

I don't need any conversation evidence, the fact that you can sleep with women as male Shepard and not men is proof enough, you can rationalize that there are no gay male members in the crew all you want but you know the truth, there aren't because they weren't implemented on purpose, because the developers wanted male Shepard to be straight, that't the truth, they also conscously decided to make female Shepard interested in gay relationships.

It's up to the developers. If they don't want Shepard to swing that way, then he won't swing that way.
