Some people here have to understand that its not always about what we want. ME didnt just drop off the sky. The games was created, the story was writted, there is a concept. There are AUTHORS. I would love very much for everyone to be happy with the game. But the fact is that there are things that can happen and things that cannot happen. If you play a LotR based RPG, you cant say you want Aragorn to be gay. He cant be. He cant be because he was nevere meant to be. Male Shepard has a purpose in the ME universe. And its not in our hands to decide whats possible and whats not for him. You cant make demands like this. Its for the creators of Mass Effect to decide this. And enlighten me, when has a writer SPECIFICALLY stated:
"Shepard cannot be gay. He is straight."
I've sure never heard that. I thought the whole point of creating a character was to... CREATE a character.
All i can see are people bickering and whining over something thats not in their hands. Its not about whats said, its about whats being build up in this franchise so far.
And by the way, looking at some of the posts in this thread i pretty much doubt that if the authors said that male Shep will never be gay, you still wont stop with your demands. The picture is really ugly here. Some of you people talk like you've been working on this project instead of BioWare. Making demands like someone owes you something. It really doesnt help your point. Its really sad.
Maybe its time some of you to think whats best for Mass Effect. Instead of what you would like. But anyway... BioWare know their job. And they will probably give an official answer at some point. I really hope they wont cave in on all these demands and rants. It would only be sad if they do. And not because male Shep will get his as* annihilated.
I wish they'd give an answer too. Though if they say no I will just leave. They'll be no point in staying. Some might stay but I'm sure there's those like me who will leave dissappointed. Like there's those who if they placed a gay option in the game would leave dissapppointed.
Shep can be gay however. He just won't have anyone to be in love with.And heck Female Shep can actually have a relationship with Liara and Kelly. People seem to mix default Shep with canon Shep. There is no canon Shep. Never has been never will be. Default Shep however is what they use for the ads.
It's a fictional character in a video game. At the end of the day, what does it even matter? It's sad as hell that you would let something as trivial as romance options (in a video game no less) ruin an otherwise great game experience.

I will play ME2 (When it gets here...) regardless of whether or not a gay relationship is in-game.
I'm still a member of PFLAG, but it's a game. Jeez.
Bah. I meant leave the forums. I'd buy the game used.
