While RedSH1FT is everything but subtle, I have to say he has a point.
I respect everyone and their sexuality, in DA:O Zevran insinuated himself to my character, I simply said no and the issue was settled for the rest of the game, however, Commander Shepard  has already been established as heterosexual in his male incarnation for two consecutive entries of the trilogy, so making him suddenly homosexual, while not immersion-breaking (IMO as I'm sure there's LOTS of people that would consider it so) would definitely feel forced and out of place.

Subtlety isn't my forte, but I agree with your post.

Red, you do realize that your responses are primarily why people are responding so negatively to you, right? I know it's a shocker, but being sensitive around these issues and not an **** actually works, too.

If Red is being a scruffy nerf-herder on purpose, then it is trolling.

Yes, I did have a romance with Ashley in the first game then Miranda in the second. They were very touching moments as far as games go and it's further proof that Male-Shepard only has interest in (as you so crudely put it) "space-vagina".

How the hell do the choices of a single player prove something in a game, that was always meant to offer possibilities for everyone to play their character in whatever manner they wish to do?!

So, Shepard didn't date a guy for the first 2 games but in the third he starts? Makes no sense. He's clearly able to hook up with guys before the third game so why hasn't he? He's not able to be gay, just like he's not able to sprout a third leg out of the middle of his head.

If Bioware were to ever impliment gay shepard in ME3 it would purely be for shock value. And it would do no favors to the lore of the universe. Infact, it would hurt the lore.

It would not hurt the lore.

My Shephard hasn't romanced anyone through 2 playthroughs. It would be just as out of character for him to romance a female in ME3, going by your logic.

Yes, but if your Shepard were gay he WOULD have romanced somebody in the first 2 games. There were tons of guys. He didn't. He was unable to.

Shepard isn't gay.

Alright, so you're obviously the kind of person who humped anything with a space-vagina in the first two games? Take the relationship on a case-by-case basis.

Insulting me for being straight? Nice. And people wonder why intolerance exists in the first place.

I had to put your position that being gay means you must have homosexual experiences wherever there's an attractive guy around in perspective. My apologies if you were offended by it - no doubt you offended a fair few yourself.

You seem to be completely blowing off the character who is more selective in who they become intimate with. A no-romance character might just as likely sleep with his first woman in ME3 as he might his first guy, it should be up to the player.

I disagree.. you can wrap hate speech in lavender and bunny rabbits and it's still hate speech.

I'm a very laid back guy except when it comes to defending basic human rights.  Then I'm not so laid back.

So, what Redshift, no responces to those of us on the first page who made the valid point that an individuals Shepard need not have ever romanced a woman?

He has complely avoided any response to those of us that have presented logical counterpoints to his deeply flawed reasoning.

This is to be expected... those enamored with hate and prejudice hold the ostrich in high esteem as the ultimate defensive tactician.

Ok Socrates.  My point is that Shep can be totally straight then turn ******.

Quick thought to throw it out there: you've also gotta wonder how many people find it offensive that they have to play as female in order to get their sinful homosexuality on.

People are over sensitive here, ReD is OBVIOUSLY being unrespectful on purpose but that doesn't mean his point is invalid, I see many people arguing their Shepards were "homosexual but had no choice" but no one is giving a good reason as why an established heterosexual male Commander Shepard should against all logic spur an interest on males.

The very first counter-argument that rose up and you never addressed was : "What if he's never slept with a woman in the first 2"

True enough.  It'd just be nice to have a civil discussion with people without the rudeness and rage.  Though on the internet, I suspect that is asking for too much.

I'd venture a guess that all of the gay Sheps out there have been through two games now with no love interests simply because no one else was interested,

Can you wrap your mind around that?  Concept too abstract? Think real hard....

ok just because you might not have romanced any women in either of the games does not mean that having a gay option in me3 would not be out of place. in both games there are no references big or small to him having any interest in men. no flirting, no innuendo, nothing. so having that option would just seem to come out of the blue and feel forced. now the game does provide enough leeway that if you want to read in gay overtones into his encounters with males as being homosexual you can. however no one would suspect him of being gay without first being in the mindset that they want him to be that way. that is why people say it would feel forced and out of place.

Look at his post then if all you can do is rage at me.

He is talking about my points.

Blah blah, ReD you're hateful.

Answer the point I raised.

Of course its the interwebs. Where the ignorant and hateful can spew their prejudice without fear of true reprisal. Anyways I'm not getting into this arguement because it always ends the same way. -_-

Needless to say: My Shep is gay with Kaiden. Even had a loving reunion in 2.

Even if Kaiden started ****ing and walked away. :?

Red, like I said before, you seem to assume that everyone who does not agree with you does not understand what your initial point was. This is lame.

Nigel Tufnel:
The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...

Marty DiBergi:
Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel:
Exactly.

Marty DiBergi:
Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel:
Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes,
you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up,
all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can
you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi:
I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel:
Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi:
Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel:
Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi:
Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel:
[pause[/i]] These go to eleven.
