How is it that humanity became as strong as the council races in like three decades? Stolen prothean tech? Also, even if the council was killed in the last game how is it possible they didnt send replacements? Are you telling me the Asari, Turian, and Salarians entire military was at the citadel?

Because players wouldn't like seeing their race being marginalized for three full games.

It seems implied that humans are just awesome, we seem to have the greatest genetic diversity, high tenacity, and quite ambitious as a species. We are not really the best at anything but we seem to be good at everything. In Mass Effect anyways.

Because we are awesome? And no, just the Citadel fleet was there. The rest of their forces were spread out. Also, what makes you think they did not send replacements.

Humans have large fleet, close to Citadel. Saved day, became heroes, new on Council. Early on have much political clout. Besides, many C-Sec aliens died, needed replacements, used humans.

Humans were also the only race to recognise the danger, and were instrumental with saving every civilization in the entire universe. That kinda thing breeds a certain gratitude, I imagine.

Invalid. Other species around for much longer. Human dominance unlikely, no matter the heroics. Bioware = xenophobic.

We found Prothean tech on Mars that allowed us to advance, and we advance fast. Liara actually goes into a dialogue about this at one point and mentions that it's actually intimidating to the other species, but that she after observing us believes it's really a strength. Think she says "You push towards your goals with an unstoppable determination" or something like that.

Took us a while to find the dormant relay out by Pluto because the thing was covered in ice and we thought it was a moon for the longest time, which gave us time to build up as humans do. Then the whole first contact war and us actually kicking the crap out of the Turian force sent in to stop us from activating the relay kinda sealed our place as a power to the galactic community. As it stands in ME1 we actually had a fairly large fleet, just limited by galactic law in number of dreadnoughts, but the council realized our potential strengths that we could bring with our ambition and at the Battle of the Citadel...they were pretty damn thankful for it.

I don't think it is dominance I think it's a much larger galactic presence.

because we reproduce faster than rabbits we're extremely aggressive. we have the biggest bomb and we're the best shots. we fight even we know we're going to lose. we're very stubborn. we look the cool and we have ten fingures and ten toes and all other races are gay

If you really pay attention you will hear the term genetic diversity quite a bit especially about humans. Seems to be one of our strengths.

Plot power! Also, they have five fingers, instead of three.

I would say that in ME the humans are a mix of most tropes about us, but especially Humans Are Special and Humans Are Flawed.

As far as the Mass Effect universe is concerned, we're the most genetically diverse, we're the most driven and ambitious, and we "think outside the box" in terms of scientific development. As an example, no other spacefaring race in Mass Effect utilizes fighter-class ships and carriers, which gives us a pretty significant advantage.

Humans are the bestest because this game is played by humans.

Turians established as council space protectors. Militaristic, autocratic. Yet humans have "larger galactic presence"? Possible that genotypic traits determine personality making humans more tenacious. Seems likely that Bioware intentionally makes humans better than others.

Humanity isn't dominate. Nor are we the strongest force in the Galaxy. In ME1, it's stated that compared to the Council races, we have the smallest fleet, but we more than make up for it with our ingenuity and tenacity.

Also, we are still a growing race. The majority of humans still live on Earth. As more humans begin to pop up, so too will our power as a whole. Of course this is only if the majority of the colonies remain apart of the Alliance.

To sum it up, we've been recognized as a strong and potentially valuable race/asset to the Council. But we've pissed off a lot of folks along the way. Why? Well, think of it like a Freshman football player getting a spot on the starting line up compared to someone who's been on the team for 4 years and still remains at second string.

And by the way, the Turians still have one of the strongest and largest fleets in Citadel Space. The Asari and Salarians have the second largest, but by far we are the 2nd strongest fleet in Citadel space.

Because the force is with them... of course.

Another important element is that the strength of humanity is embodied in Shepard.

By extension the more of a force he becomes the more so humanity becomes, inadvertantly perhaps but he/she is supposed to represent the best this species has to offer.

What is with this?!

So many races have three fingers, a number of them have three toes. Many of them share the same leg structure. Was there a galactic common ancestor that just skipped our planet or something?

It's supposed to be that we're different from all the other races.

All the others have some sort of specialization.

Asari have biotics, Turians are militarized and strong, Quarians are tech specialists, Salarians are stealth agents.

Humans are different because of how we act.

Not all of us are nice, not all of us are rude, not all of us are strong.

We can be talented in biotics, tech, military, stealth, everything that the others are, although perhaps not as effectively as the others.

The fact that humans are ambitious but calculating also helps.

We don't just go headlong into things, like Turians might, and we don't just sit around and wait, like Asari.

Basically, if you want to look at it like this, the other races need the Council because they need to bounce stuff against each other to come to a clear answer that isn't too biased any way.

Humans do that on their own.

Also, humans bicker constantly. "You'll have three people in a room and six different opinions."
