I am not sure if it does not make sense but I get the feeling the scene with Chakwas is more poignant if you played ME1 then just started with ME2.  I think it was a nod to the fans.

I think the dinner was just that dinner.

I still think playing it out would have been fun.

But what if you didn't play ME1? Then you really wouldn't care about Chakwas. They were lkely a closely related scene, so it just seems lazy to add one and not the other.

I wanted to see Shepard playing Skyllian Poker with Engineers Donnelly and Daniels. Those two have tons of potential.

It's not shown so it'll remain unclear whether or not it was anything more than dinner. Right now it's open for interpretation. It could be anything between a completely platonic dinner with a friend and hours of dirty & kinky sex.

That's a lazy cop-out. It's excuses like that that lets BW gets away with everything they do.

I agree, which is what I said, I am not sure why they didn't have an additional scene but they didn't.

Because Chakwas is cool and Kelly is a shrink. Nobody likes a shrink. They try to get in your head.

Probably because to render your room it would have had to change levels for the dinner, then change levels again when you returned. It's possible to work around that, but maybe it wasn't deemed as important as other matters on the release schedule.

That's the more likely outcome, given what happens if you did "romance" her and manage to save her after the game. 

Hint: She shows up in your cabin wearing one of those ultra-skanky asari dancing outfits.

Edit: That being said, I think it's good that they left that scene to the imagination. While the sex scenes in this game aren't as bad as, say, Dragon Age's, they aren't necessarily good in an absolute sense. Perhaps I'm just maladjusted in some way, but my imagination can come up with something way more erotic than whatever BW could put on screen.

lolz..... I liked the scene a lot more with Chakwas.... her voice was hilarious..... seriously... seeing her both introspective and smashed at all the same time was epic....
