I probably shouldn't post this - as it feels like troll bait (but then what opinion isn't) - in any case if the moderator choses to lock/delete this post I don't think it will bother me.
I'm really disappointed by the number of people who seem to feel that everything in games should conform to their personal view of "right". Whether it's nudity, or gay relationships or too much emphisis on "shooter" gaming, blood splashing everywhere - what ever. Choice is my preference. If I don't want to focus on combat - I can set the combat mode to casual (or I should be able to anyway - BTW I actually really like the combat element in ME2) sure I still have to participate but that's the nature of this story - it's a war after all. If you want a nonviolent RPG I don't know where you'd look but there must be at least a few out there. On the other hand criticism can be very useful when you find something that bugs you and you have no way to modify the game. To complain about giving others a choice about how they want to play is at best, intolerant.
Some people like to see blood splash everywhere - some don't (me for example) should it be excluded because I don't like it? No. But it should be optional. It is in many games, and I find this a good thing. Same goes with gay relationships, not my thing, but then as long as it's my chioce I'm not going to complain that someone else takes that path. Same goes with the PG-13 Nudity from ME1, I felt it added to the story but I can see why others felt it unecessary (make it an option - default to off)
The whole point is CHOICE - why make a game that forms the character based on our choices, then turn around an eliminate choices that would enhance the game play for many users?
Ah well - I'm probably just waisting my time. Intolerance seem to be the norm when it should be simply ignored.

Its on a whole different level of intolerance, really. People being intolerant in real life are angered by something happening in other peoples lives. In this case, the choices of another player affect you even less.
HOWEVER, there is the argument that BioWare is only human and has only so much time on their hands. If its a priority argument, that for instance same-sex relationships shouldn't be added because there's something more important BioWare should be doing, I understand that completely. My biggest gripe actually comes from a rather intolerant perspective, that Femsheps have less dialog with Tali because Male Sheps can romance her. Technically it shouldn't affect me, but since BioWare has limited resources I get less dialog.

I just find it funny how upset people get at the mere POSSIBILITY of things like romance, same-sex romance, profanity, controversial topics, etc. Same rule applies for real life as video games: if you don't like it, don't do it. But don't raise a stink and ruin someone else's fun. No one's getting hurt by having additional choices, so no one should be getting upset over it.
But alas, the world is not perfect

I like games that I can play however I see fit. I have to conform in the real world, Why should I have to do it in a game world. A player should be able to build a character based on their personality (if they want to) or just do something crazy and off the wall. That is how you become part of a story/game vs. just playing the game. Put the bad and the good In the game and let the player decide. I like the fact that I can have a discussion about religion with one character and have casual sex with another. I've done it in ME2 and it's brilliant. If you don't like the content, don't choose to play the game. Much ado about nothing.

Truesay, I love the choice, if there were any arguement on my part it would be about content NOT being in the game that isnt already, theres nothing bad about extra content
if people have issues with content already in the game then they can equally choose to not play, its not life or death... but if the content is in the spirit of the developers then they are trying to convey a message and shape the experience of the game, and so they shouldn't be judged so harshly I think
