I started a new game with a different ME1 import.
This time through, I can't seem to get the mission with Conrad Verner to start.

Are there specific requirements to get this mission started?

Did you do the Conrad Verner sidequest in ME1 with the second port?

I was nice to him in my Paragon playthrough of ME1 and he referred back to that when I encountered him in ME2.
