Tough question. Probably Tali, but Mordin runs a very close second if that's the case. But I really like all the new crew members each for their own reasons, it's hard to rank them.

I was already attached to Tali and Garrus, and ME2 just added to it. Out of the new characters, I got the most attached to Mordin and EDI. I liked all of them, though.

Thane. Went for him as soon as I could, and then took him everywhere with my Shepard. I also took Garrus whenever my team had room.

My, I guess you would say loyalty, to Garrus extended from the first into this. He is my Shepard's greatest friend.



Got attached to Miranda, as she was my love interest this time around.



And the good doctor himself, Mordin. What an interesting character, who I hope sticks around on the Normandy for the finale.

Kelly. Definitely Kelly. She was just so adorable and loving, and then after she's rescued from the collectors, I just want to hold her close and whisper "everything will be alright."

The most attached would be Tali. Aside from being in your squad since the first game, her loyalty mission was really powerful.

After the scientist Salarian song I had eyes for no other!
Was really pretty damn sad when he ended up dying for no apparent reason at the end of the suicide mission. Ended up replaying the mission until I got him out alive.

I give Thane major points for being a romanceable character who actually talks to you if you're not romancing him.

That said, I try to role-play my characters as best I can. I don't bring Jacob/Miranda along to places where I know Cerberus isn't welcome... the Flotilla, for example. I left Garrus behind when I went to Tuchanka, because let's face it, his people unleashed the genophage on the Krogans. If I were a Krogan, I'd be shooting any Turian who dares set foot on my homeworld. I wanted to leave Mordin behind too, but decided I'd have to take him along for his interactions during his loyalty mission. I just couldn't leave him behind in the end. Likewise, when I went to recruit Mordin, I took Jacob and Miranda, knowing that the plague wouldn't harm them, and my Shepard would never expose a crew-member to a plague when there are viable alternatives.

Likewise, when dealing with Cerberus (or any situation that requires diplomacy or tact) I try to leave Grunt or Jack behind, because they can both be a little hot-headed and I don't want them icing some Councillor or Ambassador, much as I would chuckle with glee after the event.

I realise none of this is ever likely to happen, but I like to pretend.
