Because of the glitch penalty to DEX should I just pump purely CUN?  Doesnt seem like the best way to do it...  Stupid Xbox :?

Just wondering peoples ideas on the matter.  I would like a little survivability but will it totally kill my build due to the bug?  *Frustrated*

You should still have some Dex imo. It will allow you to equip items and survive better :) I'm playing a rogue who dual wields daggers on PC and I'm running about 45 cun and 40 dex which is awesome, but you probably dont want to have that much dex :P

You also need some dex to increase your hit rating--archers can tend to miss a lot since it's easy to get high defense against archers.

So Ive read a few different threads on the matter and Ive heard a great many different things. One of them being Xbox only has a 30% modifier from STR and DEX instead of PC's 50%. Ive also heard that the DEX bug does not apply to Longbows. In which case wouldn't it be better to pump DEX instead of CUN? So many questions... Thx in advance. \\

Still not sure what to take higher. DEX or CUN... :/

I'm a console user as well so I don't have a toolset or anything to access, but all I can tell you is on my first playthrough I had Leliana as a dexterity based archer and she never did much damage.

About halfway through I picked up Lethality and started increasing her Cunning score, and after that she got noticeably better, and continued to get better through the end of the game.

I had her with a longbow all the way through.

If I started from scratch again, I would get her with enough dexterity to equip the best bows, 20 strength for armour and every other attribute point I would dump into cunning. (with lethality of course)

I could use a definitive answer on CUN vs DEX for a rogue archer as well. I have been considering 20 STR, 36 DEX, 20 WIL with Circle bonuses and previously mentioned gear buffs, then pump the rest in CUN

Cun with Lethality.

Plenty dex to suppliment though, 0.3 is still better than nothing plus the defence bonus is extremely valuable. 50dex(36 natural)+combat movement(the one after lethality) makes you almost impossible to hit.

I understand that getting the one after lethality (which isn't combat movement, it is Evasion) makes it a pain if you're an archer, because you often "evade" while trying to shoot, which makes you stop shooting.

I, also, would like hard figures on dex vs. cunning and archer vs. blades for a rogue on 360. I have completed the game using a dual wielding rogue and I had 72 dex and like 40+ cunning and 31 str. I used one longsword (tospider's honor...that's why the 31 str) and rose's thorn dagger. That char was pretty much untouchable. She waltzed right into the combat field and nearly always found it easy to subdue enemies. granted, she also used poison most of the time, and she lobbed a bomb or two when necessary.

But I'd love to play an archer character; figuring out how to be successful at it with all the 360 bugs is a pain.

BTW, does duelist have any meaning for an archer? Do the bonuses only work with blades, or do they work with pointy objects too? I've already noticed poisons don't appear to work with arrows. It seems archer got jilted, along with the 360 on this game. Seeing as traps are bugged too.

Considering Strength increases Damage and attack rating, for an archer, I'd pump strength. If you get lethality, dexterity will determine attack rating (accuracy) and cunning will determine damage. This is inefficient as it essentially breaks the function of one stat into two, so you need to split your points between the two. This prevents you from getting either of them as high as you could get one stat. Not sure how this translates to the Xbox, but according to the wiki, it's true. (http://dragonage.wik...m/wiki/Strength).

Edit: Strength determines damage for all weapons excluding crossbows and staves. Crossbows are underpowered to the point of uselessness, so stick with a longbow and you'll be good to go. Also...something I just noticed was Dex increases ranged attack rating by 1.0 instead of 0.5. This essentially means I'm wrong. It is more efficient to divide your points between dex and cunning with lethality.
