I believe that mass effect 3 will come out on 12/21/2012...so the possible ending..
The ending becomes so intense and epic that half way through the final cutscene, a screen pops up, saying you have been disconnected from xbox live, then a couple seconds later everything arounds you blows up, and you're left thinking what happens at the end of the mass effect for eternity. Seriously...
I was going to say something...
But this^

EDI: Shepard, can you hear me? I thought I lost you too.
Shepard: What happened?
EDI: I'm not sure. When Harbinger attached to the Citadel, it shook itself to pieces. Did a number on the Citadel. The Gateway couldn't be maintained. We made it through just as it collapsed. Some of us made it.... But you did it. Harbinger, the Reapers, the Geth, it's finished.
Shepard: It's finished.
He snaps his Avenger Assault rifle into the nearby weapons rack.
EDI: I'll drop a beacon. It will be a while before anyone finds us. Years even.
Shepard steps into the cryo pod and as the hatch is closing.
EDI: I'll miss you.
Shepard: Wake me, when you need me.
The hatch seals shut. The camera zooms out to show the debris of the SR3 Normandy floating toward the silhouette of a reaper that comes into view with the light of a blue star. The screen fades to white.
Lol, <Cough>Halo 3<Cough> XD

Hmm, The worst ending would be he wakes up beating up Captain Price, and looks up like "Whats goin on?" and sees a throwing knife that hits him in the eye then he dies.
THE END!

Shepard defeats the reapers by squashing them with a giant anvil as they chase him through a canyon. Then Shepard leaves known space, having remembered the remnants of the ancient Reaper Empire he had rediscovered, also known as the "True Reapers". Hoping to put an end to the threat it posed before it could attack, Shepard bids farewell to the eleven comrades who had accompanied him on his quest, knowing that none whom he loved could safely accompany him in the places he had to walk. Story concluded in a mmorpg which I have no interest in playing, leaving me to find out what happens on wikipedia.
I miss Revan... =(
That said, the worst ending for Mass3 would have to be a cliffhanger, of *any* sort.
It's a trilogy, wrap it up, put a nice ribbon on it and make it a fulfilling conclusion with no "what was that <insert item/lifeform/planet> at <insert location/gameplay time/event>?".

Definately, and if it is like that I personally want it to end with a mission like the one at the end of ME2 only more epic and with cutscenes on par with Metal Gear Solid.
While I was writing that I thought how awesome a third KOTOR would be with a ME2 sort of format. Would be pretty awesome especially with the alignment actions possible in ME2. I miss Revan too- might have to run through that game again sometime.

Here's a good bad ending that will make you all shiver:
At the end of ME3, the Bioware staff is shown on the TV screen and announces that Obsidian Entertainment will be developing the rest of the Mass Effect trilogy.
I'd cheer for this, actually. I love Obsidian. Alpha Protocol is awesome, KotOR2 is leagues better than the first game, and Fallout: New Vegas is going to be incredible.

I don't hate them either. I just thought I could get some people with that ending. I agree that KOTOR 2 was good and better than KOTOR 1 overall (it could have been better if Obsidian was given more that 8 months to make the game), but Alpha Protocol wasn't great IMO. Though New Vegas is looking good.Schneidend wrote...
